Product Description

Review

"At a tender age I discovered that it isn't doing spectacular things that makes you remarkable in the eyes of God, but instead, it is when you light just one candle to dispel a little bit of darkness that you are doing something tremendous. And if, as a global people, we put all the little bits of good together, we will overwhelm the world." -- Archbishop Desmond Tutu

"I began to see that nothing I can do will bring me happiness unless it includes happiness for others. Whenever I suffer, it's really because I have discounted the other. The flip side of that is being genuinely concerned for the other. When this happens, we have a true spontaneous moment of satisfaction, happiness, and joy." -- Richard Gere

"If we think of our life as an effort to fly always just a little bit higher and reach a goal that's just a little bit beyond our reach, we are faced with a question: How high can any of us go by ourselves?" -- Dr. Jane Goodall

"I shared a conviction with my husband that, even in a conflict region such as ours, when human needs and aspirations are prioritized in a society, that society is better able to resist and topple tyrants and extremists. That when people have hope and opportunity, they will sacrifice and invest in a stable and peaceful future for their families. And when we invest in young people, miracles can happen." -- Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan

Book Description

For everyone who has ever yearned for a better life and a better world, Craig and Marc Kielburger share a blueprint for personal and social change that has the power to transform lives, one act at a time. Through inspirational contributions from people from all walks of life, the Kielburgers reveal that a more fulfilling path is ours for the taking when we find the courage to reach out.

Me To We is an approach to life that leads us to recognize what is truly valuable, make new decisions about the way we want to live, and re-define the goals we set for ourselves and the legacy we want to leave. Written by individuals who have followed the Me To We philosophy, including Oprah Winfrey, Richard Gere, Queen Noor, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Above all, it creates new ways of measuring happiness, meaning, and success in our lives, and makes sure these elusive goals are attainable at last.

Best of all, Me to We is relevant to all readers including parents, young people, seniors and business leaders providing practical ways on how to incorporate this philosophy into your lives. Be inspired and share the feeling with your neighbours, friends and family. Your life will never be the same!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book can change your life!, Jan 13 2012
This review is from: Me to We: Finding Meaning in a Material World (Paperback)
This is a most excellent book and for everyone in the western "all about me" culture. True satisfaction comes when we take our eyes off ourselves and learn to reach out in some way to another human being. We bought a dozen to give away to people who desire to make a difference in someone else's life. If you are finding yourself unsatisfied with life or feeling unfulfilled this book has more than enough information to show you how to reach out to a very needy world. When you learn to make a difference someone else's life you will find in the process the huge impact it has on yours!

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, Jan 12 2007

This is such a powerful piece of writing! The authors question the values of western society by providing examples and statistics that will make you really think. It is about the "Me me me culture"!!!! After that they give a powerful examples of community and passion such as Mother Theresa or Brazil children. This leads the reader to the "Me to We" philosophy -- one that is indeed worth adopting. I find it as a powerful, inspireing, and impressive read.

This is a wonderful book full of life changing stories of humanitarianism. I recommend anyone who wants to be a better human being to read this book. These two authors are amazing boys. The supplier was excellent and the book arrived in excellent condition on time as promised. I would buy from this supplier again.
