Product Description

Product Description

Country music's hottest boy band really doesn't do anything that hasn't already been done just as well or better by earlier country-pop "all-guy" bands like Diamond Rio and Restless Heart. Yet Rascal Flatts' pretty harmonies, so full of painful earnestness and pubescent yearning, are often very affecting, particularly coming from a trio that looks--and often sounds--like its members are still trying to grow their first chest hairs. And now and then, as on Marcus Hummon's rousing "Dry County Girl" and the Nickel Creek-like "Shine On" (cowritten by the three band members), these rascals even show fleeting innovation. But on too many of the remaining nine tracks the trio's youthful exuberance doesn't quite escape the confining shackles of generic production and overly predictable song fare. --Bob Allen

Come on you people... RASCAL FLATTS?? They are by far THE worst music group I have ever noticed in the history of Country music! Actually, I don't even know why they are considered Country because they're NOT at all! The lead singer has one of the most irritating sissy-pop singing voice (or somewhere between the sounds of running your finger nails along a chalk board, and a dying bird), which is being overplayed on the radio nowadays. "Mayberry" and "I Melt" are TERRIBLE singles...very pathetic tunes that for some odd reason, make up to the charts. There is not one Country blood cell in this band. They are way over-hyped...like Shania Twain, but she is at least talented and give a good mix of Country and Pop (in her newer albums). But Rascal Flatts DO NOT belong in the Country genre whatsoever. But we all know what the music industry has come down to these days...we're talking about fames with William Huang and Clay Eiken (or any other US Idol stuff), to Nickelback and Rascall Flatts.... what a disgrace.
This band has nearly handicapped my hearing-capability, and my stereo speakers. Choose the RIGHT music genre instead, and don't give Country a bad name...SERIOUSLY!!
Man, I have never hated a music group so much before...WOW!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome April 15 2004
Format:Audio CD
This cd is awesome. It is by far the best cd I've heard in quite sometime. Rascal Flatts have a great talent that hopefully lasts for a long time. Their fist cd was really good and had a lof of great songs on it but I think this sophomore album tops the first one. These guys are awesome and know how to get music that relates to the audience. Their songs all have some kind of meaning and aren't just pointless works. Besides having a great cd these guys put on an awesome show in concert. When you hear the songs from this cd it's exciting. My personal favorite song on this cd is Mayberry. For some reason this song just gets my attention and has an awesome beat to it that makes you want to listen to it over and over again. Another great one on here is Melt which is also the title of the album. This song is slower and just and easy to listen to some that is quite enjoyable. Melt also has an awesome video to go along with it. These guys are great and should receive many awards for all that they do in the future! The 11 songs on this cd are personally some of my favorites. The sounds of the songs in the cd stay true to what rascal flatts sound like and make them seem even better!! This is definitely a great cd and worth purchasing.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Awsome CD To Own March 11 2004

Format:Audio CD
Rascal Flatts second album "Melt" is by far the most excellent cd I've heard in quite awhile. Between the three of them guys, they have one of the best country sounds there is today. When they releasted there second album which has recently went double platinum "Melt", it created a huge fan base also with there succsess on their first selt titled album. All of the songs of there "Melt" album has that special sound to them. There are 11 songs on the album. They have released already 4 singles of the album. The first single was "These Days", the second single was "Love You Out Loud", the third single was "I Melt", and the fourth single which is now out on country music radio's is "Mayberry", (which is currently moving up the charts). They have yet to release the single "My Worst Fear" (In which I've just resently heard). The songs of the album are:
1)These Days 4/5
2)To Good Is True 5/5
3)I Melt 5/5
4)Mayberry 5/5
5)Love You Out Loud 5/5
6)Dry County Girl 4/5
7)Like I Am 5/5
8)You 4/5
9)Fallin' Upside Down 5/5
10)Shine On 5/5
11)My Worst Fear 5/5
To sum everything up this is worth your money to by this cd especialy if you like to listen to country music.

5.0 out of 5 stars The light is shining on brightly from above! Nov. 24 2002

After their debut album sold a million copies, it was time for a new venture. This new cd, "Melt", keeps it right on pace, with 11 great songs on it. I really expect Rascal Flatts to be getting a lot of awards in the near future. Besides, "These Days", their is a lot to pick from on this cd. The title track is a great candlelight soother for romance. The song, "Mayberry", is about the good ol days and a breeze, very relaxing song. The last song titled, "My worst fear", is being compared to, "I'm moving on", but it sure is'nt nearly as moving as, "I'm moving on", is. It's hard to say if this album is stronger than the first, but it's definently in the right direction. Somewhere I read that they want to release quite a few songs. If they don't release at least 5 singles, I will be disappointed. The songs, "Mayberry", and, "Too good is true", are I think the strongest. But then, "Dreamin out loud", is real catchy too. When you listen to this cd, you realize that Gary Levoux's vocals are unbelievable! He has one of the best voices in music, and he can stretch his vocals also. I don't know how many millions this album will sell, but quite a lot. It's safe to say that this album could explode, and sell big like Dixie Chick's first album did. Rascal Flatts truly are blessed and they deserve everything they get. They have a great record label, great songs, and an ever-growing fanbase as I speak.
