This is my kind of time travel!, April 4 2008
By Lindsay - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Melt With You (Paperback)
I'm not a huge fan of time travel and fantasy in my erotica, but Alison Tyler does it well focusing more on the characters (read her Tiffany Twisted for some sexy body switching). She keeps it hot and kinky and fun as "Dori" goes back 20 years to 1988 and gets to live life all over again as an adult in her teenage world. Granted, I was still pretty young then, so the 80s weren't as angst-filled and lusty for me, but Tyler did wonderfully well at coating the story full of nostalgia with the movies (I think it's time to pull out Rocky Horror Picture Show again), music (title song is one of my favorites of the time), and fashion (day glo colors, ripped sweatshirts, and tons of hairspray).
It is fantasy so you have to suspend belief, it can get silly in some parts, mainly how Dori went back and the whole purpose, but this is all done close to the end of the book and wrapped up quick and neat, which is fine by me. As a result, the "hero" of the book doesn't have much time, we really see only snippets of him. The main draw of the book for me was "Van," the hunky boy toy 38-year-old Dori has a fling with. Their sexual romps keep the book going at a quick pace for a fast, light-hearted, and enjoyable read.

I Love the 80s-- and I love Alison Tyler!, July 25 2008
By Kristina Wright - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Melt With You (Paperback)
I love a good time travel and Alison Tyler has put a refreshing new spin on the genre. She doesn't take her protagonist Dori back in time hundreds of years--to an era she knows nothing about so she can fumble around learning how to survive-- she takes her back to an era of her own lifetime, the "mesh and lace" days of the 80s. Combine that unique angle with the kind of scorching hot erotica Ms. Tyler has become known for and you have Melt With You.
We've all waxed nostalgic about the past and said "If I knew then what I know now..." and Ms. Tyler has written a fast-paced, sexy tale about a woman who gets to relive those moments-- and do it differently this time around. Ms. Tyler does a terrific job of developing Dori's character so that readers will hate to leave her when the book ends. The eroticism is at turns amusingly realistic and "Is it hot in here or is it just me?" steamy-- a combination I find irresistible.
I know the title is Melt With You, but I found myself humming Eddie Money as I walked down memory lane (in a ripped Dayglo sweatshirt and leg warmers, of course) with Dori:
I wanna go back
and do it all over again
But I can't go back, I know...
I can't go back, but for a few delightful hours, Alison Tyler let me relive the halcyon moments of my youth and gave me a deliciously erotic read in the process! If you like your erotica on the lighter side, Alison Tyler's Melt With You will simply melt your heart.

I'll stop the world..., May 15 2008

Well, I did stop the world to read this book. I put off chores and I shushed people and I took it everywhere including my son's Emergency Room visit. Not only did I love the erotica factor but adored all the 80s references. I love Dori! I want a sequel ;)
