Product Description

From Amazon.com

No sooner do the self-absorbed, arrogant yet pathetic Gary (Martin Clunes) and his miserable yet hapless girlfriend Dorothy (Caroline Quentin) decide to get married than Dorothy comes to her senses and breaks off the relationship. With this turn of events, Men Behaving Badly launches its strongest series yet. The dismal squalor of Gary's life is, for once, completely justified as he wallows in his aimless singledom. His roommate Tony (Neil Morrissey), on the other hand, finally lets go of his fruitless crush on their upstairs neighbor Deborah (Leslie Ash) and sets off on a series of affairs with foxy chicks--thus making Gary all the more miserable. These turnabouts allow for fresh stories and different problems for these two louts, whose charm is an acquired taste but perhaps--if you can appreciate the comedy of utter cluelessness--worth acquiring. Men Behaving Badly never shies away from outrageous behavior: Gary accidentally inhales a diaphragm; Gary interrupts a dinner party with Dorothy and her new boyfriend by cutting a stuffed cat in half with a chainsaw; perpetually unemployed Tony finally gets a job--as a mime. This is not erudite humor, but some viewers will find it hits the spot. Clunes, in particular, does an amazing job of being completely boorish yet remaining ineffably sympathetic over the course of seven half-hour episodes, all written by the show's creator Simon Nye. --Bret Fetzer

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best british sitcoms, Mar 31 2006

This is where men Behaving Badly hit it's stride in the fourth series. This series features a few episodes that really stand out for me. The episode Drunk has Gary and Tony getting very drunk and trying to get back into their house when Dorothy has locked them out. In another episode Gary looks after Dorothy when she's had an operation. I always wince in that episode and I can safely say that should I fall ill I don't want Gary within 100 feet of me! In the final episode of the series I always crack up when I see Tony trying to remove his tooth, personally I think this is one of the funniest parts of the whole series. Of course Tony still has problems and this will change how everyone sees each other.

I am a big fan on Martin Clunes and wanted to see the series that brought him fame. As a woman it took me a while to get used to the episodes. I really love them now and get a big kick out of the dancing at the end of each episode. Mr. Clunes said this is his favorite.
