A must read for married couples., July 26 2006
This review is from: Men Are Like Waffles, Women Are Like Spaghetti (Paperback)
The analysis of men and women in this book is very easy to understand and interesting for both the male and female reader. Both my husband and I read this book and we are constantly making refrence to some of the insights we gained while we were reading it. This book helped both of us understand how the other was made. Best of all this book has a Christian focus. Unlike other man and woman comparison books, this book is written with God in mind. However, the refrences are not so overwhelming that someone who is not of the Christian faith wouldn't get something out of the book. I think all newly married couples should read this book.

Sitting on the Fence, May 5 2004
This review is from: Men Are Like Waffles, Women Are Like Spaghetti (Paperback)
I have to say when i first picked up the book i found it extremely hilarious and informative. I was looking at it primarily from my point of view and noticing some remarkable similarities in the examples shown in the book and in my own relationship. When i got further into the communication part of the book i started to see some heavy stereotypes pertaining to male communicative habits and was quite taken back by the "simple mindedness" portrayed by the authors. I was quite confident in sharing the book with my boyfriend, however he pointed out to me that several males, himself included, would be quite offended by the author's point of view. He particularly detested the "thought boxes", saying that it is entirely unfair to judge all males by this theory of organizing thoughts and relating to males as though they can only open one box at a time. Now of course this review can't speak for everybody who reads the book, I just thought that I would be honest in saying that the book does condone the stereotypical male portrayed in our media, such as the Harvey commercials that advertise simplisticly (Ex. meat, fire, good). I think that we need to be more open minded, and even though this book was meant to be taken light heartedly, it came off offending my boyfriend who is extremely open minded when it comes to books. Please respond back if you have any comments. This review was not meant to offend anyone. Thank you.
