I have completed 29 consecutive marathons and I wish this book had been around when I did my first marathon! I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to dive into a half or full marathon or even a 5k or 10k for someone who has never exercised before and wants to take the mystery out of those sports. Physically, everyone can finish a 5k, 10k, half marathon, full marathon or even an ultra-distance event. No one says you have to do it in world-record pace. It is the mental aspect of the sports that causes many to succumb to defeat or what they think is failure, which it is not! Dr. Mahoney breaks down the vast stigma and mystery of endurance sports into small easy to understand tidbits of information that anyone can grasp and put to good use. One of the hardest thing to any sport is telling yourself "I can do this!" Great Book!!
