Album Description

2009 release, the ninth full-length album from the Alterna-Rockers. Animal Collective continues to make music that combines a love of sonic free form Electronic horror Gospel Hip Hop Soul Pop madness and brings it all together into something that is (hopefully) at times totally pleasing and at others completely scary and confusing but most importantly is refreshing in this crazy crazy world.. The whoops and hollers that previously held together the sublime, chaotic urgency of their earlier work now signal the calm sense of euphoria and wonder that ripples through this wide eyed record. 11 tracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Boys 'n Girls Rejoice, Jan 18 2010
By
This is one of the best releases from 2009, despite the pouty pinkish whinge from the first two reviews. Joy, exhuberance and millions of tiny bubbles of happiness gush out of this record. The boys know how to pull out a melody and between "My Girls" and "Brother Sport"... this is an original, effervescent masterpiece of harmony. It wasn't #1 on many year-end lists without reason. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Listening non stop for two years, May 5 2010

Why are people comparing this to dark side of the moon? That's your own fault. If you didn't take the time to see the font in the liner notes how can your review be taken seriously?
I've been listening to this album since it came out and I'm still not tired of it. I listen to alot of stuff and I thought it deserved the top spot for album of the decade, maybe behind Arcade Fire's Funeral. Anyway this album is a masterpiece and our children will be listening to it when we're older. Its unlike anything else and it makes the hair on my arms stand up. Not one bad track on the album. Its time to upgrade from the 70's dudes or don't write misleading reviews for albums you clearly never gave a chance.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just Not That Good..., May 21 2010

I just cannot get into this album. There's just way to much going on at once. Also, all of the songs are like 5 minutes each, which is too long for an album that isn't that good in the first place. However, "Summertime Clothes" is a fantastic song, and it redeems this album enough for 3 stars. Well, that and the cool album cover.
