Product Description

From Amazon.com

In this extended version of her Boot Camp workout, the energetic Tracey Mallet and her crew (appropriately attired in military-style clothes) demonstrate a three-part routine that is definitely not for new recruits to exercise. The first workout mixes the chasses and sautés of aerobic dance, a little Tae Kwon Do, and the jumping jacks and push-ups of military basic training. ("Your pain, your gain," she announces during the excruciating second set of push-ups.) Workout 2 begins with some Tai Chi and then alternates kickboxing with hand-weight work. The final routine combines the jumps of the first with the "martial dance" of the second. Mallet has an unflagging enthusiasm and a taste for variety that makes this workout a long way from dull. However, with drums pounding in the background and jumps galore, this 48-minute workout is definitely for the young or the young-at-heart-and-knee-joints. --Kimberly Heinrichs

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite Workout video, May 21 2004
By A Customer
I have many workout videos, but this is my favorite. I have tried yoga, sculpting, The Firm, Tae Bo and on and on. This is my favorite because there are sections for shorter workouts if I don't have much time. I find that I really get my heart pumping but am able to keep up throughout the workout. It is more of a total workout. For me, many workout videos are either hard to follow (moves that I still haven't figured out) or really build muscle and make me bulky instead of slim or are very boring and a chore to do. This video is fun, easy to follow, and a nice change of pace for all levels. Im actually buying my second copy because my first VHS broke after much use!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Boot Camp? No. Good Workout? Yeah., Dec 23 2003
By A Customer
First off, don't let the name fool you. These workouts are not much like a boot camp at all. So if that's what you're looking for, this tape may not be hard core enough. But this is definitely a good intermediate tape. What's great is the variety, there are so many different moves with dance, kickboxing, jumping jacks and lots of squats. It's so energetic and dynamic, with a fresh upbeat flare. I only do the first two segments. The first segment is very demanding and has lots of jacks, lounges, and pushups. The second segment combines a short kickboxing section with some weight training and is not as intense as the first one. Since this tape is intermediate, it won't give you that perfect body and doesn't really do much for your abs, but it's a good stepping stone. I definitely have noticed that this tape has lifted and decreased my butt and firmed my inner thighs. It took me awhile to get used to the routines however, and there's not much instuction included with the moves. But if you are sick of boring workouts and you can't stand to do 45 minutes of the same thing, buy this tape.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for busy Moms ( what Mom isn't?), July 10 2004

I have had this tape for about 4 years now and it's so worn that I have to replace it. Before I had my baby I just thought it was challenging and fun. Afterward , it was a godsend. The 15 minute workouts enable you to stop and attend to kids, family, home, etc. before continuing without needing to rewind or restart. I also have the Firm which I love but constantly stop and restart and stop and restart (one might see how that can be disheartening and annoying) and Marie Windsor Pilates which is also great, but I'm a jump around and sweat kind of girl. This tape is perfect for that (in measured doses of course). Tracey Mallett was pretty good as instructors go but I was a little annoyed that she counted the steps out wrong at times and that other times her words didn't match her actions. I did however, like how her pupils sometimes messed up. I felt like it made them human and that I'm not the only one all of the time. Anyway, I found the tape convenient, enjoyable and challenging. Even if you do the workouts one or two at a time you'll work up a sweat.
