2.0 out of 5 stars Think Twice Jun 29 2004

I used this book alone to study for the CISSP exam. It didn't come close to preparing me. The questions on the exam were much harder. There are not enough sample questions in this book.
And the questions on the free on-line practice exam are too easy. After taking the exam (which I didn't pass), I couldn't recall a single question from the book that was on the exam.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book/Study Guide Mar 26 2004

I looked at a lot of different guides to prep for the CISSP. This was one of the best I found - condensed and concise. I used only this book and some paper practice tests (to get into test taking mode) to get ready for the CISSP exam, which I passed with no problem.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty solid review material Sep 22 2003
Format:Paperback
/* Disclaimer
The CISSP is a *very* tough exam to write a review book for. It is quite correctly described as "a mile wide and an inch deep". Therefore do NOT expect this book to cover everything that you will encounter on the exam, and certainly don't get angry when you take the test and there are things not covered in this book.

So the material .... I found the chapters to be well laid out and direct. There was a lot of information crammed into a very small book, which made it ideal for me as a "last week" review. I took notes on every chapter and picked up quite a few little nuggets of information that I hadn't seen anywhere else. Of course this was my only "exam" book. Everything else I used to prepare was actually a book on a given subject (ie Incident Response, Network Intrusion Detection, etc.) so I can't really say how it stacks up against other prep books.

So overall it's definitely worth the money since it's cheaper than most tomes, but I regret not using a second "exam" review. That is not a reflection of this book, but of the massive amount of material on the exam.
