MI 5,
By
This review is from: Mi-5 V4 (DVD)
This is a very good series. We had seen it (the series) on TV and wanted to see it from the beginning, hence the purchase. It's excellent. I love the way each programme starts. You are instantly drawn into the world of MI 5. The character of Adam (Rupert Penrhy-Jones) is very good, the choice of Adam was good to take over from Tom MacFayden. It was sad when Danny left the show, though I can understand why the actor did so.I don't regret buying this one bit. I will watch it again.

Starts well but ...,

My husband and I love spy stories (history, novels and movies -- it's all good, if it's good) and very much enjoyed the Spooks series (the British name) up to Episode 7 of Series 3. Unfortunately, Episodes 8 and 9 are full of phony hand wringing over such issues as the use of torture. It was most unspylike. A good spy is a psychopath. Mess with that at your peril. We'll probably watch Episode 10 eventually and, if at all satisfactory, we'll give Series 4 a try. So far we've purchased the dvds but they are too expensive to be second rate. Next time, we'll rent. We also agree with those who find the casting changes more than a little disconcerting. We still miss Tessa in the first season.

You're being watched!,
By B. Tracey "Sci Fi Fan" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Mi-5 V4 (DVD)
The fourth series of MI-5 (Spooks) packs a slightly lesser punch than the previous three, but fascinating and entertaining nonetheless. For my money, this series leaves stuff like 24 at the starting gate - it retains a good grip of the real world and does not treat other countries as either idiotic or as a fiefdom. The fact that the series is working through its' second team of actors is edge of the seat stuff and validates plotlines nicely. The issues of state sponsored torture, big brother, personal privacy and civil rights are raised throughout, but never challenged to any great extent. Well produced, slick and gives Mr Bond a run for his money. 21 of 21 people found the following review helpful

Best Show NOT on US Television.,

Why, Why, Why does a US cable station not pick up this wonderful show. A&E showed the first 3 seasons but even them, it was when A&E decided and did not really care if anyone watched. This show, espec. seasons 1 & 2 are miles ahead of anything else on US television today. My recommendation, buy all 4 box sets, get tons of popcorn and spend your entire weekend watching a 10 out of 10 show. 17 of 17 people found the following review helpful

MI-5, Vol.4,
By S. Lanini - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Mi-5 V4 (DVD)
This series captures the best of the thriller, English spy game with plots that reflect current global events. It is a roller coaster thrill ride with every new episode, and unlike American TV drama, they aren't afraid to put key characters in mortal danger. Highly recommended.
