Product Description

Sean Price (Brooklyn, NY) has a cult-like following. Fans have been anticipating the release of his 'Mic Tyson' album for years now and thankfully the wait is over. Mic Tyson features production from The Alchemist (5 songs), 9th Wonder, Evidence, Team Demo, Beat Butcher, Khrysis & more. The cover artwork was illustrated by Marc Ecko's lead designer, who also created the cover art for Monkey Barz. The cover will be brought to life in the form of a motion-graphics animated video set to one of the tracks from the album. Sean Price is close to finalizing a national show on a major video entertainment station as the host of a weekly Hip-Hop show that could be 40+ episodes. The show would start in early October. Sean Price is coming off a successful Rock The Bells tour where he had the opportunity to perform in front of thousands.

Mic Tyson is one of the most pointless and repetitive albums I have heard and I enjoyed myself on the first listen, not so much on the replay. This is purely a casual album with a somewhat limited appeal, with an equal set of strengths and flaws. The production is fairly strong, featuring a variety of known and lesser-known producers, with a few stand out beats while a couple of weaker and less interested ones. Sean Price delivers a "Sean Price-like" performance, delivering nothing but trash talking and aggressiveness with humourous punchlines. The short length of the tracks (41 min for 15 tracks), the repetitive content, and literally being about nothing highlight the main flaws; it is heavily cohesive though. Nice album but majorly flawed.

By far my most anticipated album of 2012 finally made its way to store shelves and digital outlets. Harder than the mic used to smash open the heads of the killer apes on the cover, Sean Price delivers the rawest most ignant underground hip hop record ever recorded. With genius and finesse Sean Price puts the art form of drugs violence and rapping back into the forefront of underground music. Exceptional rhymes and production from the alpha to the omega. Title Track: "How that nine go? Where your guns at?/Faking moves, 80's fool, he a lunch pack/This a dumb rap, but I can rap smarter/The educated rapper, the African Godfather." STFU Pt2: "The best rapper, the worst rapper/The sket clapper, the purse snatcher/The neck snapper, the Earth slapper/This your man Sean/The opposite of a ******* Duran Duran song". Peace to the beast from the east, one half of D.I.R.T. Heltah Skeltah, the impeccable, Sean P.

Like i said above, i do like the CD alot as i am a huge Sean Price fan and usually like anything he puts out, but the beats are kinda slow and the flows lack that hard ass delivery i was hoping for, expected a little more but still a good buy if you like that grown ass man rap.

Sean P!!! Nov. 26 2012

Typical Mr Price on this banger.
My only issue was I like a physical CD instead of a download.
The download was $1 cheaper and had a bonus track and then iTunes has 3 bonus tracks.
I bought the download and will probably get the other 3 tracks seperately.

SEAN P Dec 13 2012

Real Hip Hop is all I have to say. This is one of the MC'S that the game has always slept on for some reason. One of the Best from the whole Duck Down crew in my opinion along with BuckShot. He continiue to get better everytime he releases his brand product of hip hop. I say his brand because you clowns out there are too stuck on listning to what everyone else calls hot when it's not. Buy this album and you will listen and begin to appreciate real lyrics from a genre of MC's that are actually not relevant for some reason anymore. SEAN P! Keep doing your thing homey!
