Product Description

From Booklist

Never have the to-be bride and groom had so many options for personalizing their wedding day--and for saving bucks. Michaels (as in, yes, the stores) to the rescue. Fifty-plus projects, ranging from decorated cakes to scrapbook pages, will fill the days between the announcement and "I do." Here, editor Kopp has wisely divided the embellishments into five different decorating styles--glamorous, pink, modern pastels, whimsical, and modern bold. In each section, there's at least one wedding cake, one invitation, one thank-you note (here's to etiquette, at last!), among other items to fashion. Complete instructions, color photographs, a frequent tip (like craft stores do sell embossed invitation kits . . . duh!), and five galleries of quick-and-easy projects for last-minute needs. Who could resist a polka-dot daisy cake or a pearl-trimmed thank-you note? Generous credit to the seven designers, however, doesn't mask one issue: fondant icing is difficult for experienced bakers to master, so it might be smart to flag those cake--decorating projects with a "practice-practice-practice" star. 5.0 out of 5 stars PLEASE DON'T PASS UP, May 3 2006
By Daddy's Girl "Nikki" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Michaels Book of Wedding Crafts (Hardcover)
I am on a very tight budget for my own wedding but this book gives FANTASTIC step by step crafts that are not only BEAUTIFUL but cost effective as well. Every bride (and wedding corrdinator) should own this book. The crafts are great fun for you and your fiance to do together. It offers ideas on centerpieces, decorations, scrapbooks and best of all you can personlize everything you make.

3.0 out of 5 stars Really Dissapointed, Mar 24 2009
By Amanda - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Michaels Book of Wedding Crafts (Hardcover)
I gave this book three stars rather than one because there are a few projects that I will be trying. But it seems like this book mostly contains projects for keepsakes rather than centerpieces and favors, as one would would assume from the outside cover of the book.

Another thing I do not like about this book is the themes that they present their projects in. I've purchased a few other wedding craft books and each book is usually broken up into Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall and has a few crafts that are unique to each season. This book only has three sections: really elegant, pink, and bright and crazy. Granted, you can use your imagination to change a project to suit your wedding colors/season, but there are no projects that give me that 'wow' factor, nothing that I can really see being used at my wedding.

So if you can get this at your local library, I would suggest just checking it out. But like the other reviewer stated, if you are a wedding coordinator, it could be useful to add to your library.

If you are young and hip- don't get this book. It's got old school wedding ideas in it. Very boring. Waste of money.
