I purchased this as I got the Nexus 4 Android phone which unfortunately uses the micro-sim. I am not a big fan of micro-sim nor am I am big fan of using a tiny pin to remove the sim tray. Now that is critique for an otherwise amazing phone which the Nexus 4 is :)

This sim cutter did it's job. I cut the sim to micro sim without any issue. The micro-sim works fine on the nexus 4.

I own one of these and bought it on a whim. Where I live, Rogers will ONLY charge $10 plus taxes for a replacement card so it's a no-brainer to buy a sim card cutter and possibly wreck a working card. I had 7 older full-size sims so I tried it out on 3 of them, all CRUSHED them quite a bit. You'll end up almost shattering the gold circuitry on your precious card, TRUST ME! Yes, I too have tried to manually downsize a full-sized card and used some extremely sharp break-off blade knives and it's pretty hard to line up one pre-modified with a factory made small card. The adapters included with all cutters I've seen: too thick, waste of money, flimsy. IF they were of the same material that a mini sim is actually stuck onto when new, that would be great. Some examples and quite factual-iPhone 3 used a large card, try an adpter with a small card and you risk jamming the thing inside when trying to remove it and the phone's pins snag it. I have cell phones that I can remove the batteries from the back and with phone on the table surface, just flick open the metal access door for the sim, slide it in and re-latch the door. If it's a large tray, one can just position the small sim card in the center so the pins all make contact on the required parts. Try the adapter and then have a problem closing the door because yep, adapter is TOO THICK. Try sliding in a mini sim and the flimsy adapter into an HTC Raider and you'll jam it all in there too. If not familiar with an HTC, it's the same as older fliphones, you pull the battery and there's a plastic pocket where you drop in your sim and slid it into nowhere land ie: you see just the end of it and the rest is buried. Tried an adapeter in that type too, got stuck.Read more ›

Absolute garbage. Thank god I tested it on a spare not relevant sim first. As not only did it not cut it out, it also bent the metal sim holder out of position basically rendering this device useless. It didn't cut the sim at all(and it was just a regular sim nothing special). I can't imagine the frustration I would have had, had I tried it with the actual sim first. I guess I've bought enough bad products in my time to be sceptical.

For the price and the assumed hassle, I didn't even bother returning it. It's just going back to the landfill from which it probably initially came.

Not worth it.

Didn't work for me. Waste of money. It makes micro sim but alignment is not right so sim doesn't work. I wouldn't recomand it to anyone. It's better to resize the sim manually as par the measurement of an existing micro sim.

The cutter works fine.

The little cartridges to are supposed to be for converting Micro Sim to Sim don't work because they are too thick to fit in the phone.

The cutter worked great and that's what I bought it for. The sim adapters on the other hand were junk. Any sim I cut didn't fit right and would always catch on any device I tried to test them in. But as said before the cutter works like a charm.

You really don't need a cutter to cut down your sim as you simply can print out one of templates found online and do it free hand unless you have problems making a small cut along a line or want to do a bunch quickly. I bought it as my son wanted to use it thinking why risk damaging the sim when this is so inexpensive. I was expecting a flimsy product that might work okay if you aligned everything. What I received was a very sturdy precision cutter that was easy and foolproof. I think this could be used in a commercial capacity with no issues, sadly we only once and can't confirm that opinion.

1st. This not the first time I've used one. Could not line up sim to avoid damaging one of the contacts. Took out almost half of it. Then, tried to use adapter... No chance without a lot of filing. Worse the cut was rough enough so I could not fit the microsim into its original frame. With a different kind, this had been easy. Because of travel, I bought 2. Both seem to have the same problem of not being able to position the sim for a good cut. I know there are good ones out there, so try something else. The ones suck.
