I've used the old Microsoft Wired Keyboard 500 for years and just upgraded to the new 600 version. Been using it heavily for the last couple of days (I'm a software developer) and I'm very happy with it.

Pros:
- Low profile keys
- Easier to clean
- Takes up less space in nearly all dimensions
- USB and not PS/2
- Slightly concave typing area is a bit easier on the fingers
- Very soft sounding when typing (very faint click)

Cons:
- Width-wise positioning of Ins/Del/Home/End/PgUp/PgDown takes a little getting used to
- Keys seem slightly smaller (might just be the spacing between)
- Function keys are tiny, harder to find based on prior muscle memory

All-in-all a great purchase for the price. The cons are all little transitional/niggly things that I'm sure I'll get used to very soon.

I have gone wireless, mini, black and white and after throwing my last keyboard into a box with at least 5 others that don't do the job anymore, I decided to go back to basics. I wanted something inexpensive but not cheap looking and this seemed like a good choice when I read the reviews. This keyboard has surpassed my expectations in every way. It looks great, and has a nice solid feel to it. I think this will be around for some time. It has the look and feel of a much more expensive board and using it is a pleasure. I can't find a single fault with it. A great keyboard at any price.

I love the soft feel and quiet touch of this keyboard. Writing this review on it now, I can't believe I spent almost five years pounding away on the deafening Dell keyboard that came with my desktop. I used to have to close the door of my den so my husband wouldn't be driven crazy by clacking keys.

This new one is very comfortable to use, and all the keys are where they should be, and it has lights to indicate when my CAPS Lock is on and suchlike. (Why keyboards still have caps lock, I will never understand; I only ever press it by mistake.) Another feature I like is the button to turn on the onscreen calculator - no more searching through the menus. I only wish I got a package deal with a mouse - this quiet keyboard makes my Dell mouse clicks sound loud by comparison.

Was looking for the cheapest keyboard and found what I wanted. For 13$ it is definitely worth it, keys make no noise and works perfectly.

I am typing this review on the Microsoft wired keyboard 600 right now and it feels very smooth, relatively quiet, and very ergonomic. One thing you will notice when you get this keyboard is how light it is. It feels extremely light, however although this may be confused with feeling it cheap I can assure you that it does not. It uses very large rubber stoppers on the bottom of the keyboard that stop it from sliding around so when you are typing the keyboard feels extremely stable.

One potential downside of this keyboard I can see is for power users who often use the top row of function keys as the function keys on this keyboard are not full sized and have more of a short travel and clicky feel to them. This is not a deal breaker for most people by any means as the keys are still rather usable. However, I can see for certain power users how it could become a bit of an annoyance.

Overall this is a great keyboard for the price and I have no problem recommending it.

This keyboard is fantastic.

The keys are quiet and stable (no lateral movement) and are still as quiet as when I received the keyboard last year. The curvature of the keyboard is great actually. It took little time to get used to the curvature and I find that it actually helps prolong comfort when typing long documents. The comfort level is equal or superior to the hallmark HP Standard Basic Keyboard 2004. The calculator button above the keypad turned out to be very useful.

The keyboard I received though differed slightly from the picture in that the Start button features a Windows 8 style logo without the bubble and there are no shortcut helpers printed on the front wall of the keys.

A decent keyboard which I purchased because I needed something quieter than my mechanical key unit. Just FYI if you're buying this for the same reason (if you did a Google search for 'quiet keyboard' and came up with this), it's harder to be accurate on this than on a mechanical keyboard or any keyboard where each key has more depth to it. This is designed with fairly shallow keys and I find myself making input errors more frequently, either because of the depth issue or because the edges of each key are quite close to adjacent keys. However, I think most keyboards of this design will have keys of similar depth so this isn't a knock against this particular unit.
