it works exactly as I thought it would, fast delivery, great quality, only problem is the Mac drivers, I decided not to install them and as a result the mouse performs as expected.

The mouse is very nice and the blue track technology is great too, but the problem is that the nano transciever burns out after using it for a few days to weeks. This problem is clearly a issue with the design of the nano transciever. I have burned through 3 transceivers already.

My first mouse - used it for 1 month, but one day.. mouse stopped working.. when I touched the transciever.. it was burning hot. I yanked it out and the metal casing came off. It was not functional afterwards and heated up within seconds after plugging it in.

I called Microsoft for a replacement.

They sent me my second mouse - used it for 2 weeks. One day, I pulled the transceiver out and plugged it into another laptop. It didn't register. I then tried to pull it out and same problem.. It was burning up and the metal casing came off again.

Called Microsoft for a 3rd mouse.

I got fed up waiting for the mouse so I bought a Microsoft 4000 model on Jan 20th with the same bluetrack tech. I've used it for 1 month exactly and it just died. Same problem of the mouse becoming unresponsive and the nano transceiver overheating.

BTW.. for anyone that has this problem.. the mouse is under warranty for 2 years. You can call Microsoft at 1(800) 360-7561. Give them the PID number on the bottom of the mouse and they will send you a new one. Keep your old mice in case they ask for them. If everyone calls and gets warranty replacemetns, maybe they will finally fix this problem.

I purchased this mouse in January 2010 and thought it was a great mouse, that is until this morning. My laptop said my device malfunctioned and when I tried to take the nano transmitter out of the USB port, I burned my fingers! It was fried. I tried my roommates mouse in my ports to ensure that no damage was done either by or to my laptop and it worked just fine. The metal casing around has since fallen off. I will be contacting Microsoft as the previous post recommends to ask for a replacement as there is still over two years of warranty left on this product.

I bought this mouse 8 days ago and today the nano-transceiver burned out. If left in a usb port for more than 5 minutes it could burn your fingers when trying to remove it. Microsoft may offer free replacements with no questions asked but it's not worth it if every replacement they send for two years just craps out on you. This problem is with the transceiver itself and not the mouse, so while the Mouse works as I expected, no other Microsoft nano-transceiver will last, even if you buy a different model mouse.

I bought this mouse in conjunction with Microsoft Arc Keyboard (Black) to replace an old wireless MS natural keyboard/mouse combo which I use to control a computer connected to a TV.

The keyboard works great, however trying to use the mouse on carpet, leather couch, glass table, or even on a mousepad causes the mouse to act very erratically. It will basically stick to a certain part of the screen, and as I wildly move the mouse around it will jump periodically. It's very frustrating to use.
