I obviously haven't read this book cover-to-cover yet, but I have had a look inside!
I've only had the book a few weeks, but it is laid out in a very simple manner where you can search and find a specific area of interest and review that area without having to sort through a bunch of unrelated issues.
The language is fairly easy to follow and it's not overwhelming in a visual sense.
It's quite thick, so it covers a lot of area in detail.
I can't say anything bad about it at this point other than it's quite large and is not travel friendly.
But if you want to learn at your own pace for your own needs, great book!
Thanks,

Book delivers what it promises! Feb. 16 2011

The publisher says, "Breakthrough techniques and shortcuts that are unavailable elsewhere." TRUE! I am an advanced Word user with years of experience with an international lawfirm as a legal assistant, and also in their wordprocessing dept. I was looking for a book that would give me some new tips and tricks that I didn't already know, something to take me further. This book delivers! Yet, it also includes plenty of basics: if you don't know Word at all or need a good reference manual, this will work for you, too.

If you're looking for a Word manual with lots of screen shots and pictures, this may not be the one for you. But if you do well reading and following along on-screen, and/or want those handy tips and tricks, get this book!

I like the Tips, Notes and Cautions. Also, one feature I don't recall seeing in any other of the books I have or have read: when she mentions an item in another chapter, she also gives you the page number. This is sooooo handy!

More Detail Than a Basic Text on Word 2010 Jan. 14 2011
By Warren Liebold - Published on Amazon.com

I made a promise to myself that I would work my way up to at least Intermediate Level with MS Word 2010 and that really requires a book beyond any of the fine "basics" volumes. There are features such as styles, templates, themes and many of the editing functions that really need to be understood in some depth both to properly apply them and to prevent them from messing you up. At the risk of a shot ringing out from an Amazon.com sniper targeting me between the eyes, the best way to approach this is to go to an actual bookstore and examine a couple of the advanced volumes and see if the layout and language of one appeals over another. What they cover differentiates them less than how they are organized. Word 2010 In Depth works well for me. YMMV.

This book helped me to publish my first book. It was easy to understand and I was able to find the how-to for several functions in Word 2010 software. I would highly recommend this book.

Good Technical Manual Feb. 27 2012
By Compute - Published on Amazon.com

Having used technical manuals for years, I really like this manual. It is easy to find your information or get your questions answered. I purchased while on a business trip to solve an issue and found it right away. Purchased the Kindle edition so I can have on multiple platforms. Definitely recommend to the novice and experienced user.

I thought I knew Word Jan. 8 2012

I have Microsoft Office Suite for Mac and I thought I was clever enough to navigate around Word by now. I have used Word for the past few years. This book goes into detail about every function of Word. It goes into depth on style sheets and formatting. It's not a for dummies book, it expects that you have some idea of Microsoft Word.
