Although I don't own my own Xbox - I always play someone else's because I already own a PS2, I never-the-less feel obligated to add my thoughts on the matter. The new Xbox controller S is one sleek piece of equipment - FAR superior to that original monstrousity of a controller those idiots at Microsoft initially came up with (it was that super ugly, gigantic, and clunky original controller that turned me off from buying the Xbox when it came out). The new controller S is visually appealing to the eyes. Although the PS2 controller is still slightly more attractive, the controller S is an extremely close second. The controller s is smaller and handier than the original, has easier to use controls, and is VERY comfortable to grip. Just compare the different controllers of Xbox, PS2,and Gamecube by holding them in your hands, and fiddling around with the controls. You will see that the Xbox controller S has the nicest fit of them all on the palms of your hands (the Gamecube is the least comfortable). Ironically the controller S was originally designed for the Xbox release in Japan because the original controller was deemed too big for Japanese players. I really think those folks at Microsoft should plan things a little better before jumping in to the game....

My favorite controller of all time is this amazingly great Xbox Controller S.I couldent find anything wrong with it.And yes,I think its even better than the Dual Shock 2 (and much improved over that original Xbox controller that was designed just for NBA players hands).Yes,the Dual Shock 2 was very good, but it wasen't really that great for FPS.This great Controller S works perfect with every type of game on any genre.
This controller is greatly designed too.Its also features the best quality of any controller,ever...And I mean that when I say it.Most controllers can break easily if you throw them against something(like the PS2 Dual Shock 2 and Super Nintendo ones)but this one wont because the quality is so good.
It also fits well in just about anyones hands(but the original will fit better in your hands if you are a NBA player). Its very comfterable, too. So this is the best controller ever made.Don't even think about getting the original Xbox controller - defiantly get this instead at all costs.

That's right. If you found this controller more comfortable, you have little girly hands (obviously not an insult to female gamers out there). I never saw anything wrong with the original controller, and still laugh at all who own one of these 'controller S's because they can't handle a 3lb controller that fits adult hands well.
Don't get me started on PS2 and GC controllers (a camera button??), but I think the Xbox was innovative in designing a controller for someone with hands bigger and stronger than a 5 year old's. They're durable, too. I threw mine out a second floor window onto concrete (I don't take losing well) and it has barely a scratch. I accidentally broke my friend's PS2 controller by just shifting it in my hands wrong (ultimately not my fault, for my hands were much stronger and versed to useing a tough controller).
So, while technically this controller does the exact same functions as the original, I couldn't see myself wielding one anytime soon. Cheers to those who whined until Xbox put this out. I only wished you whined for something that really mattered, like more RPGs or less Sports titles.

The original Xbox controller was bulky.I was always getting my ... whooped in a game of Halo. Now that I have the Xbox Controller S,things are much better.
Xbox Controller S is Microsoft's answer to hundreds of customer complaints. It's made for people with smaller hands. If you have small children that have trouble with the old controller,Xbox controller S is the way to go.
The button layout has been rearranged. The black and white buttons are below the four primary buttons (A,B,X,and Y).Also, this controller is similar to the Sony PlayStation's one.
Also, the D-Pad has been redesigned, too.Instead of the old controller's bumpy pad, this D-Pad is more like that of the Nintendo GameCube.
This controller is also much sturdyer than the old one. With the previous controller, you can hear it craking and squeaking inside, but on this one,it's completaly solid. This is a very, very,VERY high quality controller.Don't listen to the people that whine about their new controllers breaking;they just don't take very good care of them.
Overall, even if you have big hands,I reccomend buying the new Xbox Controller S!

The Xbox Controller S is supposed to be the small controller but I still find it too big for my hands. I find that most games require you to use the left joystick on the unit. This is fine except when I'm done playing, my left thumb hurts. I wish I was able to use the left navigation buttons instead but there are only a hand full of games which allow you to use those on a regular basis. The unit is big and bulky. I feel like I'm holding a Big Mac instead of a controller. Everytime I finish playing, I have to exercise and massage my hands because they are so cramped up. Beside this, I find that some of the buttons are useless on the controller, particularly the right joystick and the two smaller buttons on the bottom right side. Are they there for decoration?
I'm old school, I remember the old Nintendo, Sega, etc... joysticks from the past. Those were easy to use for everyone, young and old, with large or small hands. The Xbox Controller S is an innovative controller but when it comes to comfort, it is extremely lacking.
