HASH(0xa6a2ba68) out of 5 stars Unbelievable Jan. 1 2013
By Electrical Engineer - Published on
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
This book manages to give an encyclopedic overview of microwave engineering but wrote in an easy to read almost novel formate. I found myself excited to most to the next chapter and not being able to put it down. Pozar covers all of the important into topics with passive engineering and even makes it into active and nonlinear microwave engineering. Provided me with a very solid foundation for advance books and courses in microwave engineering.

HASH(0xa6a300d8) out of 5 stars Pozar has once again written a first class microwave engineering ... July 13 2014
By Mark P. - Published on
Format: Hardcover
Pozar has once again written a first class microwave engineering book. This is the #1 book for this topic in my opinion. It is written as a graduate level text and should be used in a classroom. It is not really a book that you can read on your own unless you are very experienced in electromagnetics.

HASH(0xa6a3024c) out of 5 stars Great Text on Numerous Microwave Engineering Subjects Nov. 26 2013

This book is simply a must have in your engineering library! The text is clear and concise and the examples are relevant and useful. This book used to sell for $120+, for whatever reason it's selling for <$50 and for that price you shouldn't pass it up.
HASH(0xa6a301c8) out of 5 stars A truly great book! July 28 2015
By Ssound - Published on
Format: Hardcover
I initially bought one of those cheap international editions of this book for next to nothing, and after reading it and truly appreciating its content I decided to buy the real deal and I bought the hardcover US edition.

This is one of the standard books that will be held as a reference for many generations to come, its directed towards graduate students, yet it starts from the basics, such as a review of Maxwell equations, transmission line theory, etc...

Im currently studying a master's degree in rf design, and all my teachers love and praise this book, and I can understand why, the writting style is clear, the content is specialized and the author covers many different applications of microwave engineering all the way from materials to communications circuits. The chapters on transmission lines are great, this is probably the best book I've read regarding waveguides.

The price of the hardcover book seems to be very high, again it looks like the editor is taking advantage by overpricing this book, however like I said, I believe it is so good that its worth getting the hardcover edition and keeping it for years to come. You can of course buy the international edition of this book, which has the same content and its just a fraction of its price.
