The authors of several best-selling microwave cookbooks have put together three dozen menus for special occasions, with preparation plans, wine suggestions, and helpful hints for entertaining. These are upscale recipes, in the Silver Palate style: Crisp Duck with Balsamic Cranberry Sauce, Peppered Pink Grapefruit Sorbet, etc. Most are appealing, though some (certain fish dishes, a sauce or two) might be better prepared with a conventional stove top or oven.
