Great Mid South cookbook, with lots of variety Dec 17 2011
By Rose Mary Mogan - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I love the MID SOUTH cook book that I ordered from Amazon at a bargain price. The Black Walnut Layer cake with the Cream Cheese Frosting, that is on the cover , I think will be an all time Favorite at my Christmas Dinner. I can't wait to make it. I prefer to make my cakes from scratch, and was a little disappointed that there were so many boxed recipes, for those of you that love to take the short cut with boxed recipes, I know you will be very pleased with this book and not be dissappointed at all.

I love it too, I just wish there had been more emphasis on cakes made from scratch than from the box. Most of the older Southerners that I know love to make recipes from scratch as do I. There are some made from scratch but not nearly enough for my taste. This is a great cookbook, and you are sure to find many of your favorites included, all from the Mid South Region.

I purchased this book at an exceptional price, and it will be one of my favorite books to use and add to the many cookbooks that I currently have in my collection of more than 600. I know you will be very pleased, not only with it's content, but the wide variety of recipes that it has. I am happy to have this cookbook in my collection.
