5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!! March 20 2009
By Jenn S
I am an avid horror movie fan and have seen as many horror movies as I know exist. Since I have spent the majority of my movie seeing life watching horror flicks it takes a rare film to actually have me on the edge of my seat, totally involved, and excited about what's going to happen next. This film did this for me.

I watched this film and was actually sad when it ended knowing I can never have that 'first time' experience again. In all honesty I can say that this was one of the best horror flicks I have seen in a long time. Highly recommend this film to any horror movie lover like myself!

4.0 out of 5 stars Tickets Please Jan. 29 2014

Another great one from the mind of Clive Barker - Vinnie Jones is absolutely daunting in this movie that does suffer from long periods of inaction, but once the terror ramps up - it doesn't stop. Great ending too!

Nice and gory. I like gory movies. Westerns are also good movies. Sci Fi are great also. Will get more movies later.

The Midnight Meat Train is a 2008 horror film based on Clive Barker's 1984 short story of the same name -a photographer track down a killer and he discovers more than he bargained for.

4.0 out of 5 stars A true gore-fest Jan. 14 2013
A real gore-fest, and I mean that in the best possible way, for those of us who appreciate the finer things in life. A wonderful, classic bad guy, Mahogany, worth the whole price of admission. A few plot details are lacking, but explanations can be found in special features.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a ride! June 2 2009
This movie is very impressive. The lighting, the shots, the sets, the cgi effects...everything was done in a very artistic way. The actors are perfect too. Even if I gave this movie 5 stars I'm aware that the script contains certain flaws:

It doesn't give away enough clues to link the unexpected conclusion with the rest of the movie. Thus, it feels weird when you're watching it for the first time. Furthermore, the motivations of the characters seem wrong sometimes or not explained enough. It ends up feeling like some stuff was written for an easy way out.

The thing is that I was able to overlook those writting mistakes because of the incredible work done by the director.

One of my teacher once told me that you can make a good or a bad movie with a good script and that you can only make a bad movie with a bad script.

I think The Midnight Meat Train is the exception.
