This movie is very impressive. The lighting, the shots, the sets, the cgi effects...everything was done in a very artistic way. The actors are perfect too. Even if I gave this movie 5 stars I'm aware that the script contains certain flaws:

It doesn't give away enough clues to link the unexpected conclusion with the rest of the movie. Thus, it feels weird when you're watching it for the first time. Furthermore, the motivations of the characters seem wrong sometimes or not explained enough. It ends up feeling like some stuff was written for an easy way out.

The thing is that I was able to overlook those writting mistakes because of the incredible work done by the director.

One of my teacher once told me that you can make a good or a bad movie with a good script and that you can only make a bad movie with a bad script.

I think The Midnight Meat Train is the exception.

I am an avid horror movie fan and have seen as many horror movies as I know exist. Since I have spent the majority of my movie seeing life watching horror flicks it takes a rare film to actually have me on the edge of my seat, totally involved, and excited about what's going to happen next. This film did this for me.

I watched this film and was actually sad when it ended knowing I can never have that 'first time' experience again. In all honesty I can say that this was one of the best horror flicks I have seen in a long time. Highly recommend this film to any horror movie lover like myself!

Well-done shocker...originally a short story from Clive barker's "Books of Blood" which were very popular when they first came out and made him a horror story/novel luminary. I've never read the story in question but I'm quite sure it has the same basic plot-line.

Clive Barker must have been scared by some big guy in a suit when he was a kid: see "the Doctor" in "Cabal" and "the Salesman" in "Weaveworld". now, you have "Mahogany" in this picture. Mahogany doesn't say much but you must admit he has a good work-ethic. The scenes of violence are gruesome but, except for the exploding face(Sam Raimi's brother?), rather understated. The movie is, in many ways, a simple affair with the morale, "don't follow big, hulking butchers around, no matter how guilty you feel about one of his possible victims".

About 2/3 through this film, you have a pretty good idea how it's going to end and it won't be with a music video.

always been fond of Mr. Barker's work so i thought I'd add a film treatment of one of his early stories to my collection. Horror/gore hounds will love it...and probably conspiracy-theorists, too.

PS I did not give it 5 stars because I hate....oh, watch yourself and see!:)

A very original story something very different that I haven't seen in horror in a while. Ryuhei Kitamura's shots in the movie are beautiful yet highly imaginary. Take for instance the first group that we see on the train and how the last person gets dispatched, you're left in complete awe by the horror and precision of the visuals.

Great Horror movie!

Another great one from the mind of Clive Barker - Vinnie Jones is absolutely daunting in this movie that does suffer from long periods of inaction, but once the terror ramps up - it doesn't stop. Great ending too!
