5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Values for the Nintendo DS July 4 2007
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
If you have ever tried those video games you see on the tops of bars in restaurants around the world, this systems is called Touchmaster. A conversion of these games have now made their way home to the Nintendo DS.

There are 23 games in all, and the top 10 scores are saved for each of the games -- so everytime you play, you have the challenge of trying to beat one of best scores in the high score table (fun!). The games are mainly puzzle type games -- or variations on card games. There are a few action type games (like the basketball game) which do not have the "depth" or replay value, but are fun for a quick diversion from some series puzzle challenges.

There is a built in trivia game with thousands of questions, a "Wheel of Fortune" type game and plenty more. Most of the games are so addictive, you can't stop playing (and that make sense, because the owners of the machines in bars, wanted to "suck up" your quarters. The graphics are functional and perfect for this type of game.

I would have paid full price for some of these games on their own. I didn't even try the link functionality. Suffice to say, overall, this is by far the "best value" on the Nintendo DS. Hope Midway comes out with a sequel for this one some time!

Hope you all enjoy this one as much as me. My wife and I have not put this one down all weekend!

4.0 out of 5 stars touchmaster Dec 25 2009
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Very easy to learn. Good time filler. Familiar games.

Some screens have very small graphics and therefore harder to play - only drawback I found.

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is great for anyone who loves puzzles and puzzle-type games. There are lots of choices here, so you'll never be bored. Included are the "no-name" versions of well-known puzzle games such as Wheel of Fortune, a Mah-Jongg tile game, Yahtzee, Black Jack, and Solitaire. There are also puzzle games I've never heard of, involving sliding and dropping tiles that remind me of Tetris and Bejeweled (but be warned... NOT the same, just similar to). There are a few downsides: several of the games are timed, and your game is over because you took too long! Also, the Trivia game has alot of American material, so if you're not from the USA it adds an extra challenge. A very few of the games seem silly (maybe I just haven't figured out how to play them yet!). Anyway, the few shortcomings are easily outweighed by the fun this game will bring you. It's wonderful for planes, trains and automobiles! Definitely worth the low price tag!!!
