From School Library Journal
Very different from the standard teen romance, this is the story of Tom's hopeless obsession with a 14-year-old world-class runner. He falls for her so hard that he drops track himself, abandons his old friends and devotes himself entirely to her welfare. She remains indifferent and finally breaks it off. Told from the boy's point of view, the book deals with unrequited love, which seldom if ever rears its head in teen series romances. Excellent effort, whose only weakness is that such a strong obsession is not entirely believable.
