Product Description

If you knew what we know about milk ... BLEEECHT! All that pasteurization, homogenization and processing is not only cooking all the nutrients right out of your favorite drink. It's also adding toxic levels of vitamin D. This fascinating book tells the whole story about milk. How it once was nature's nearly perfect food. . . how "raw," unprocessed milk can heal and boost your immune system ~ why you can't buy it legally in this country anymore, and what we could do to change that.

Freedom lost , Health lost Aug 30 2003
Format:Paperback
I had been trying to buy this book for years, sometimes finding a copy but the asking price being over $100. I am so glad it has been republished. Being a conservative I usually frown on corporate and governmental conspiracy notions, but this book has opened my eyes to both. What the health bureaucrats and the dairy industry did to Raw Certified Milk was nothing short of a travesty on the health of this nation. It proves that the general public will always give up freedom due to fear. This is a tactic common in Communist and socialist countries and it is a shame that it is practiced here as well. (The Patriot act is another example of freedoms lost in an instant due to fear induced by the government). Will the tremendous benefits of Raw Milk ever be known again? The odds unfortunately are against it. I read Dirk Van Loon's 'The Family Cow' years ago and then bought a Jersey cow and milked her. Even though I nearly got Carpal-Tunnel syndrome doing it by hand, it was a great experience. We now have more land and are looking forward to buying another milk cow (with a machine milker this time). Armed with the knowledge of how to produce clean fresh REAL milk via Dr Douglass's book, my family will be able to shed the grocery store garbage that carries the name of milk today.

Do Not Trust Doctors Unless They Have Studied Nutrition Dec 23 2005
By Michael K. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I used to love milk. In high school, I drank half a gallon a day. And this laid the foundation for a health crisis. In my 30's, I developed severe lactose intolerance. While attending a 12-week holistic health class, taught by someone with the anti-establishment credentials of Dr. Douglas, I discovered why. Modern processing kills all the natural enzymes found in milk that allow the body to process milk. This forces your body to deplete its own store of enzynes. This eventually results in lactose intolerance. When I drank RAW milk, which still contains these enzymes, I was fine. I searched for this book for years without luck. I am so glad to see it back in print. Doctors who search for the truth, rely on natural cures, and practice preventative medicine are often persecuted in this Country. I take my hat off to Dr. Douglas. If you are lactose intolerant, drink some raw milk and you will see the difference. Over the years, my body has healed enough so that I can eat milk products in moderation, but I still stay away from milk. I have learned my lesson.

Science with a Sense of Humor Feb 9 2007
By Rachel B. Ramey - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This highly-readable book discusses the merits of raw milk, along with such related topics as mothers' milk, the eating of meat, and the effect (or, rather, lack thereof) of dietary cholesterol on the human heart. I found Dr. Douglass to be witty, well-informed, and respectful of readers with a wide variety of worldviews (although there is some mild coarse language throughout). This is not an overly scientific book, which may be seen as either a benefit or a downfall, depending on your reason for reading. I only gave it four stars because it is in dire need of proofreading/editing.
