5.0 out of 5 stars Versatile and Gutsy Nov 26 2010

Impressive workhorse in a small package. Tool is easily as aggressive as my corded Milwaukee Sawzall but offers the opportunity to hold and steady the piece you're working on with one hand, while sawing with the other. I've had the tool only a few weeks. Used it first to cut up some old metal objects for removal and recycling from an old dump in the woods on our property. Later cleaned it up and used it as a 'meat saw' to butcher two pigs. Now that's versatile! My only criticism? I wish it came with a backup battery in the initial purchase or that extra batteries were more affordable. Single battery purchases are prohibitively expensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lucky Choice Oct 24 2011

Been thinking about getting a reciprocating saw for some time, but due to the fact that I am a female, and not so strong in the arms, made me wait until they came out with one that was reasonably lightweight, but still had some cutting power, mostly for small projects around the home. I was not sure this would be the best choice, but took a chance after reading the pros and cons about other saws and helpful reviews, plus studying the specs at the Milwaukee website. I am happy to say, this saw was better than expected. Fairly easy to handle for me, and easy to snap in blade changes. I ordered a second regular size battery (this one comes with the XC battery, which is heavier) which will surfice for quick little cutting projects just fine. I also ordered the 12 pack blade replacements, and now have a cutting outfit that will handle many different jobs. The tool is well balanced, and really not much vibration when cutting, so it works just perfect for me. It seems to be well built, and nicely finished. The tool bag that comes with it is perfect to store it in along with the extra blades and charger. My husband likes it too, and he can handle the extra weight of the XC battery pack, and can do some tree branch cutting without fussing with an electrical cord. Very Good Purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for tree work Nov 12 2011

I bought this tool to help cope with massive tree damage from a recent too early snow storm. Cordless was essential, as was one-hand operation. The tool has been a godsend. It easily cuts through branches up to three inches in diameter, including oak, apple and bradford pear hardwoods, though it's best on one and two inch diameters. It is well balanced and comfortable to use with leather gloves. I can even use it overhead without problems. I'm getting a couple hours use out of a charge, depending on how much cutting I'm doing, and that feels about right to me. Charging is surprisingly quick. The battery can be difficult to unmount from the tool, but that's hardly a big drawback. I'm pleased with the product. I have about two more weeks of cleanup to do and if the thing survives this ordeal, I'll definitely look at other Milwaukee products when it's time to replace older shop and yard tools.
