4.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what you'd expect, and that's a good thing., Dec 10 2003

Space Cops: Mindblast! introduces us to Officers Evan Glyndower and Joss O'Bannion of the Stellar Patrol. Glyndower is a walking weapons platform who wears a Suit (reminiscent of John Steakley's Armour) that makes him virtually indestructable. O'Bannion is a chemist and collector of classic (and not so classic) movies. Together they investigate the killing of fellow Solar Patrol officer Lon Salonikis, and the deadly new drug Hyper.

Space Cops is a fun little futuristic whodunit where bad guys lurk around every corner. It has clever dialogue and interesting characters. This is not heavy stuff, but there is a lot here to like.

4.0 out of 5 stars Futuristic Reality with present action, Oct 16 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Mindblast (Paperback)
The cover is very appealing and is a good portrayal of what the reader has in store. The described future in this book seems be to what policing of space could be like and is written in a very realist matter. The reader could be fool to believe that the story is occuring in present time. The plot gives a present sitiution in today's society and manifests itself in the future setting and allows for reader to be to clearly invision the future, it's characters and the action of the story. The different setting were described excellently since most have not been in space or on the planets in the book. The main character of Space Cops is shown to be emotional in way that doesn't focus purely on the action of the story but doesn't create a character that is not focused on the plot. This allows the reader to know what the character feels about his job as a police officer and his life away from policing. This is not to say that the plot deals with characters,it allows for imagnative action that can be seem in the mind's eye and is not easily forgotten, even long after putting down the book.I recommend this story for all sci-fi readers that also enjoy an action packed police drama.I would also like to recommend the other books in the Space Cops series if you enjoyed Mindblast.

What a great original book about being a cop on the space beat.It has wonderful characterization with upbeat tempo and a plot that keeps you guessing.Even though it is out of print try to get a copy anyway,I think you would be glad you did. P.S. Don't let the first few pages scare you away.
