Basically I needed a cable to attach my 2011 macbook air to a standard monitor. I did not want to spende 30 dollars on the apple branded one and got this one. Other then the package this is the exact same (function wise) as the apple one at 1/3 of the price.

Even though it does look and feel a little clunky and might not be extremely durable, it does what it's supposed to do just like the one Apple sells twice the price.
