Hard to "just cast out" and pick a favorite out of these Ten Classic Songs:But whether you're hooked on, The 'Love Song', "Franny"; The Soulful "Put a Little Love in My Soul"; The Rocker, "Stone Cottage"; The Commercial Pop-Song, "Speak Your Mind"; The 'Down-Home Texas Blues' of "Back Down Home"; The 'Hard Times that make you see that the...' of "Good Times", featuring Nick DeCaro on accordian; The Smoldering Jim Morrison-like "Baby, I Love You"; The Rhythm & Blues of "Baby Like You"; The Jazzy Climactic Epic, "Before I Go", with the Acoustic Bass & Marxophone added or The Grand Finale "Don't Let the Sun Go Down", featuring a mandolin and an acoustic guitar by Flatpicker Extraordinaire, Clarence White of The Byrds, or all of the above, you can be sure that you reeled in Marc Benno's BEST and a very vital part of ANY music collection!

A True Classic for the 1970s,

Anyone born between 1950 and 1955 NEEDS this album in their collection. You'll remember how good it was to be young and free spirited. Don't just "re-live", "RE-NEW"!

one soulful dude,
By Steven Griffiths (nevada city, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Minnows (Audio CD)
Back in 1970 I remember listening to Marc Benno's first self-titled album and feeling akin to his music. For a white boy, he is one soulful dude. When I found "Minnows" on-line I quickly ordered it only to find it to be where Marc had left off. He truly has his own style and it is powerful. I do not like the Asylum Choir effort with Leon Russell but on his own, Marc Benno shines like a diamond. Aside from his self-titled album and Minnows, I have not heard from him. Does anybody know what became of him?
