I have the Quick Fix Hip Hop workout, which is okay but relatively unchallenging. This workout got me sweating and breathing much harder than Quick Fix. The choreography is a little more challenging, but if you have decent coordination and don't find moderate choreography too hard, it'll be fine. She repeats enough that you catch on to the trickier steps. It is not as slow paced as Quick Fix regarding learning the steps, so your heartrate is kept up more consistently. It is broken down into ten minute segments, obviously, and the first few are fantastic. The last few, that target certain things, like abs and lower body, aren't really aerobic, and aren't that useful unless you never do anything for your abs or lower body. So because I workout every day, I'll probably just use the first few segments for cardio and do other DVDs for abs and muscle strengthening. But if you don't do a lot of workout DVDs, you'll probably want to do the whole thing. There isn't a proper cool down or stretch. You cool down doing the slower segments at the end, and she does a few quick stretches, but you'll have to do your own thorough stretch (which is the case with all of these kinds of series that are done in segments for "quick" workouts). All in all, this is the best dance DVD I've found yet, and I've tried Quick Fix, Patrick Goudeau, Christi Taylor, and Gaiam. Oh, and there is a definite Hip Hop style about this DVD.

Since my only experience with instructional aerobics consists of a rather embarassing (and discouraging) attempt to keep up with a class of gym regulars, I was afraid of feeling overwhelmed again. This DVD is fantastic! I felt a little lost the first couple of times, but was able to follow the simple steps (and keep doing them while figuring out the more complicated ones). I have zero experience following choreography and within a week, I can dance to the "Simple Slimmer" at the same pace as the instructors. The music is decent (not boring and won't annoyingly get stuck in your head) and a single 10 minute workout helps you break a sweat without noticing the time pass. There is also a great feature allowing you to personalize your workout by choosing which segments you want to do and in which order. I recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and efficient way to fit some exercise into a busy schedule.

I was hoping this was a full dance workout and it is for the first three chapters and then it's more of a strengthening workout set to music for the last two chapters. Of the two DVD's that I've purchased from the 10 Minute Solution series, I prefer the Latin Dance Mix over this one. Jennifer Garlardi is a really good instructor - I like her style but this DVD just wasn't what I was hoping for.

I received this a few weeks ago and have tried it twice. I feel very frustrated by the fast moving steps. If you are not quick to pick up a very choreographed (arms and legs) than this video is not for you. She is high energy and fun to watch and I just wish I could catch on....very frustrating! Exercise shouldn't be this complicated.

I'm trying to get in shape & lose weight. I was looking to find different ways to keep me interested in exercise. I wasn't keen on videos because i thought they'd get boring quickly. I've only had this a few days, so i can't say it's boring yet. Actually it's pretty challenging for me. So far i can do 3 out 5 , which is not bad for someone out of shape. Even though it says dance, it's not like you're really dancing, i was expecting to get down & boogy. The choreography is good, not impossible to follow. I would reccomend it, if you don't have the stamina to do an hour video. This allows you to do what you can. If it's only ten minutes to start, then that's what you do 'til you can handle more.

I love this DVD. When I got it, I couldn't stop doing it. I was doing it 3-4 10-minute sections, 4-5 days a week, and I was so happy until I start feeling pain in my knees. I started researching and I realized that since I was just starting to exercise in my adult life I should have started slowly even if I was so excited about it. And that if I was going to do more than one section I should have stretch more before and after doing the sections. But anyway I love this DVD because it got me sweating in no time and I felt so good after doing it. So couple of days ago I stopped working out, but know that the pain is gone. I am going to start again this time slowly and stretching properly.

I bought three kinds of workout DVDs and this one I thought would be my least favorite. I was wrong. I actually really enjoyed it. The instructions are clear, the moves are fun and close to real dance moves, and the instructor is engaging. I love the fact that the routines are 10 minutes each and that 2 of them target specific muscle areas. I love the fact that I can chose which one to do for the amount of time I have. And I love to work my abs standing up. It's efficient and fun. I could feel it the next day.
The one reserve I have is on the warm-up and cool-down which are pretty short. But all and all I, wait for it, loved it !
