5.0 out of 5 stars New favourite author! May 19 2011

Format:Mass Market Paperback
I decided to try a Brandon Sanderson book after reading his continuation of Robert Jordan's epic Wheel of Time series. Wow! I was very impressed - completely new uses of magic and a gripping storyline that made it hard to put the books down. This series is nice in that it is complete in 3 parts, so no need to wait for another installment. A definite buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Engrossing read Jan 17 2011
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Only halfway through and I can see why they chose this author to finish the Wheel of Time series. The world he's created is deeply and extensively unravelled throughout the books - the characters are well developed with volumes of information subtly woven throughout chapter headings "readings" and inner thoughts of the characters. Well paced and cleverly written. I would highly recommend to those who love a darker fantasy read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely an addicting series Sep 28 2012
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Cleverly written and one of the most interesting and engaging set of fantasy novels I have read. Sanderson's uniquely dark take on magic coupled with the fact that the story is concluded within 3 books definitely makes this series stand out amongst the best of fantasy novels. The script before the beginning of each chapter adds an additional element of intrigue to the main storyline. I am looking forward to reading Alloy of the Law which takes places 300 years after the events that transpired in the trilogy.

My husband was a lover of fantasy books. Therefore any good writer and especially ones that were sold in a boxed set was just what he wanted for a christmas or birthday gift.
