HASH(0x9eb49d8c) out of 5 stars All the prayers you need in one volume July 10 2011

It's so kind of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso to include the prayers that he's giving commentary to right in the back of the book. The Liberating Prayer, which was written by the author, is a beautiful prayer that any Buddhist can appreciate. Likewise with Prayers for Meditation, which provide meditators with traditional Buddhist prayers to prepare their minds for meditation. Kindly, the author has also included prayers to Tara, Avalokiteshvara, Vajrayogini, and Heruka in the back of Modern Buddhism, which makes the book as a whole a perfect companion for any modern Mahayana or Vajrayana practitioner. How kind to offer these for free; it puts the "modern" in Modern Buddhism when you can carry your prayers around on your phone! If Amazon charges, try

All three volumes are great. Advanced teachings made super simple for anyone to understand and practice. Practice is the key though if you really want to get everything you can out of this book. If you do not do the meditations you are missing out on the fruits of the practice. Thank you Geshe Kelsang Gyatso!!!

Modern Buddhism is a remarkably splendid book-series, that you can download as an especially kind gift, from one of The Great Tibetan Buddhist Masters of our Time on The Principles of Modern Buddhism... Geshe Kelsang Gyaltso's wisdom and teachings are broad and immense as vast Valleys of Gentleness inclusively embracing and nurture you into his most profound Wisdom.

What Geshe-La offers are tremendously valuable information - in short form and easy to read - fore anyone that are seriously interested in The Principles of Buddhism. He takes you gently by the hand and guides you - as an obviously trained educator - through The Sutras, The Tantras and The Prayers of Daily Practice. Containing both the why, what and the how to do... that you will have a full on Buddhist Practice to follow, afterwards. All, explained with exact eloquence!

I most say, I have enjoyed them tremendously and I know, I will use them over and over again... and I would also like to use this opportunity to convey my Sincere Gratitude for this most remarkably gift, Thank you, Geshe-La!
