5.0 out of 5 stars All the prayers you need in one volume July 10 2011

Format:Kindle Edition
It's so kind of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso to include the prayers that he's giving commentary to right in the back of the book. The Liberating Prayer, which was written by the author, is a beautiful prayer that any Buddhist can appreciate. Likewise with Prayers for Meditation, which provide meditators with traditional Buddhist prayers to prepare their minds for meditation. Kindly, the author has also included prayers to Tara, Avalokiteshvara, Vajrayogini, and Heruka in the back of Modern Buddhism, which makes the book as a whole a perfect companion for any modern Mahayana or Vajrayana practitioner. How kind to offer these for free; it puts the "modern" in Modern Buddhism when you can carry your prayers around on your phone! If Amazon charges, try emodernbuddhism.com.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!!! Oct. 23 2012

All three volumes are great. Advanced teachings made super simple for anyone to understand and practice. Practice is the key though if you really want to get everything you can out of this book. If you do not do the meditations you are missing out on the fruits of the practice. Thank you Geshe Kelsang Gyatso!!!

This book is an amazing source of comfort and understanding for anyone reaching out for spiritual solace. However, just like they say in the book; it's what you do that makes the difference. Reading it won't transform your life but applying it will.
