Molly Fox's Yoga: Yoga Sculpts utilizes the ancient practice of yoga to strengthen and elongate major muscles. This 45-minute program offers an alternative to traditional weightlifting with postures that require a full range of motion and deep breathing. Instructor Molly Fox kicks off this sculpting regimen with sun salutations and continues the session with warrior and triangle formations. Poses are held isometrically and the abdominal muscles become key in stabilizing the body. The midsection gets a killer workout while holding the body in alignment throughout movements that encourage spinal flexibility and hamstring pliability. Beginners and participants with injuries or weak joints will find an accommodating format that moves slow enough for mastery of exact form. This program would be a terrific addition to any exercise fanatic's fitness library (especially for strength trainers who are burned out on mainstream resistance exercise). The music and scenery are nondescript but the content makes up for any lack of inspiring imagery. I am new to Yoga. I had always belonged to a gym where I used weights and the treadmill. I started getting bored with my routine and with 2 small kids, couldn't always fit my workout in. Because of the great reviews she received, I purchased Molly Fox's DVD. Thank goodness I am flexible! This would be extremely challenging for someone who is not. I feel like this DVD is challenging enough where I will not master it right away but will not get frustrated trying. For a relatively short workout, it does target the entire body. After following Molly's workout every other day for a month, I have definitely noticed more definition in my waistline and I feel overall leaner and better.

After reading all the reviews, I decided to branch out and try this....I was extremely disappointed. Molly doesn't use the names of the poses very often and will move without sharing what she is doing in detail. Therefore, you will be left in a pose waiting to move. She also does a lot of "jumping" - I found this obnoxious. Not at all the flowing Yoga I enjoy - beginners - this isn't for you. Try "Crunch - The perfect Yoga Workout." It's worth your money.

This DVD is good for anyone beginning yoga. Don't expect a lot of scenery - there isn't any - but if you want good instruction and alternatives to some of the more difficult poses, this is a good option.
