This book was purchased because one of my childcare children fell in love with it while we were borrowing it from the library. Her parents bought a copy for her and a copy for the childcare center. The children still love it. This book arrived in excellent condition.

i first saw a jane cabrera book at a library childrens' story time, (it was 'if you're happy and you know it') and was very taken with the large, bright and cheery looking animals she draws. so we borrowed more of her books and this was one of my 18 month old daughter's favorite books. she would wait for the end when the (human) mother gives her baby a hug and then promptly would give me an endearing one herself! though cheery, the illustrations arent cutesy like so many other childrens books and has just enough animals to keep a little one's interest. a great way to introduce various animals to a child, as well. however i'm not sure this book is something we will keep going back to.

You know how three-year-olds can love something and want it all the time? This book is that "something" for my son. We checked out this book from our local library about three months ago. And over the past three months, we've checked it out so many times (through various branches - so we're not hogging the same copy) that I finally decided we had to purchase a copy for his personal library. My older children enjoy reading it to him and researching "is this really how mommy {animal} carries her babies?" The illustrations are bright and eye-catching for a toddler or preschooler. I highly recommend this book for a young child's library.
