Well not the best they are still worth a watch. Anyone watching "IT" can see that the people who put together the "Alien" movies must have watched it to.

It is interesting how perspective changes over time. I saw It! as a child and thought I remembered things that were not actually in the movie. I am pretty sure this was pre-Star Trek so the mock instrumentation and costumes are ludicrous but one has to look past old technology and focus on the story. The star will be remembered later in the lead role of Daktarri (Marshall Thompson). The monster is, well, you have to look past the technology. In its day, it would have been harrowing. It would probably bring concern to a modern child of 5. I really had thought it had flown in from space and had wings.. those were the misconceptions of a small child. In reality, the creature was a stow-away but the concept is still creepy and a warning to space travelers.
