Product Description

Disney-Pixar proudly presents the hilarious story of how two mismatched monsters met and became lifelong friends in a movie screaming with laughter and oozing with heart. Ever since college-bound Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) was a little monster, he has dreamed of becoming a Scarer -- and he knows better than anyone that the best Scarers come from Monsters University (MU). But during his first semester at MU, Mike's plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, "Sulley" (John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer. The pair's out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University's elite Scare Program. With their dreams temporarily dashed, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right.

“Monster’s University” is an exalting animated film that follows the character of Mike and his comical journey of how he meets up with Sulley in college. They start out as rivals at the college, but eventually are forced to unite together when they recruit other fellow students into a team that they are building. “Monster’s University is good for those who like quirky animated films.

The prequel to Monsters Inc. we finally get to see how it all began for Sully and Mike. The two did not start off as friends, in fact at one point they despised each other. But after being kicked out of the scare program, they become determine to win scariest team in school which enables they will return to school in the scare program. They are joined by a ragtag team of monsters the kind who are unlikely to ever scare anyone ever, but some how throughout the movie they begin to pull together and realize that each team member has value and start to rely on each other. Despite a seemingly happy ending, there is another twist at the end that makes you wonder just how this story will end, but it was certainly a fitting beginning for Sully and Mike.

Can't think of a movie yet where Pixar has dropped the ball. This coming of age movie has Mike and Sully coming of age and discovering who they really are. Hilarious scenes as they campaign to win the scare contest. However, I can't agree with the morally ambiguous message to young people as they both end up expelled from University as a result of their endeavors... Might have gone at it a different way in my opinion. But for sheer entertainment value, it's another winner.

Mike desires to be a "scarer." The monster world is powered by screams. The problem is that Mike (Billy Crystal) while smart, isn't scary. He attends Monster University where he studies hard to be a scarer. The plot reads like "Revenge of the Nerds" as Mike must win a scare contest along with his hopeless fraternity to prove himself and stay in school as a scarer.

Mike is a rival to Sullivan, a university legacy (John Goodman) but later they operate on the same team.

The film is cute. The initiation scene was my favorite with a laugh out loud chuckle.

One the kids enjoyed ages 5 and up.

Really intelligently done, and quite interesting to see the backstory on the characters and even recognize some of the scarers in the first movie back in college days. I have watched it several times and there's always parts that make me chuckle.
