Product Description

Disney•Pixar proudly presents the hilarious story of how two mismatched monsters met and became lifelong friends in a movie screaming with laughter and oozing with heart.

Ever since college-bound Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) was a little monster, he’s dreamed of becoming a Scarer—and he knows better than anyone that the best Scarers come from Monsters University (MU). But during his first semester at MU, Mike’s plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, “Sulley” (John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer. The pair’s out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. With their dreams temporarily dashed, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right.

Get ready to party with hours of exclusive bonus extras, including an inside look at the world of monsters and the animated theatrical short film The Blue Umbrella. Monsters University opens the door to huge laughs on Disney Blu-ray.

-----------

“Monster’s University” is an exalting animated film that follows the character of Mike and his comical journey of how he meets up with Sulley in college. They start out as rivals at the college, but eventually are forced to unite together when they recruit other fellow students into a team that they are building. “Monster’s University is good for those who like quirky animated films.

I have to say these last few years after Toy Story 3, my faith in Pixar had a bit dilapidated itself... until Monsters University showed its face. The plot may be on the predictable side, but Pixar NEVER failed to deliver on the emotional and funny parts. The chemistry between the characters, their incursions make up for a special reunion, one that I'm very glad to recommend to anyone who enjoyed the first Monsters,Inc. Oh, and stay after the credits for a special post-credits joke XD.

Video is wonderful, delivering colors and loads of amazing details only today's technology can provide on animated movies. There is hardly anything remotely negative to say about the technical presentation since the audio is just sublime and immersive enough to warrant multiple viewings. Children will no doubt wish to do so and some parents may just enjoy the repeated playbacks.

The second disc of the set holds the bulk of the special features and they are quite satisfying indeed. With enough material to cover hours upon hours, the inside story of this production will no doubt make you wish you were there, but this is the second best seat in the house.

Pixar has something no other animation studio holds: a child's heart with an adult's mind. It is with great enthusiasm that Monsters University unfolded its magic before my eyes, and I can't wait to let it do so again, and again.

The prequel to Monsters Inc. we finally get to see how it all began for Sully and Mike. The two did not start off as friends, in fact at one point they despised each other. But after being kicked out of the scare program, they become determine to win scariest team in school which enables they will return to school in the scare program. They are joined by a ragtag team of monsters the kind who are unlikely to ever scare anyone ever, but some how throughout the movie they begin to pull together and realize that each team member has value and start to rely on each other. Despite a seemingly happy ending, there is another twist at the end that makes you wonder just how this story will end, but it was certainly a fitting beginning for Sully and Mike.

Can't think of a movie yet where Pixar has dropped the ball. This coming of age movie has Mike and Sully coming of age and discovering who they really are. Hilarious scenes as they campaign to win the scare contest. However, I can't agree with the morally ambiguous message to young people as they both end up expelled from University as a result of their endeavors... Might have gone at it a different way in my opinion. But for sheer entertainment value, it's another winner.

Mike desires to be a "scarer." The monster world is powered by screams. The problem is that Mike (Billy Crystal) while smart, isn't scary. He attends Monster University where he studies hard to be a scarer. The plot reads like "Revenge of the Nerds" as Mike must win a scare contest along with his hopeless fraternity to prove himself and stay in school as a scarer.

Mike is a rival to Sullivan, a university legacy (John Goodman) but later they operate on the same team.

The film is cute. The initiation scene was my favorite with a laugh out loud chuckle.

One the kids enjoyed ages 5 and up.

My kids really loved Monsters Inc. They don't watch a lot of "mainstream" movies. I mean, our criteria for movies is very strict, so Monsters Inc just barely makes the cut. But we also enjoy the occasional trip to Disney, so it's nice to have a general understanding of the major Disney movies before they go on the rides, watch the parades, etc. So I let a few Disney ones slide by the filter,

Anyway, they enjoyed Monsters University even more than the original. It had much better jokes, fewer "scary" moments, and even the grown-ups thought it was funnier than Monsters Inc.

Monsters University is a prequel to Monsters Inc. This film follows a younger Mike (Billy Crystal) and Sully (John Goodman) as they start university in preparation to become scarers for Monsters Incorporated. Along the way, they meet new some new friends and have the typical (and not so typical) hijinks that come with college and university life. This is a fun movie for the whole family but it helps if you watch the previous movie first as there are many jokes and characters from the previous film. I purchased this movie for my niece and nephew and they absolutely love this movie.

It tells their story and how they got into the scare field. Fun for the whole family if you have seen the first one you need to see this one
