5.0 out of 5 stars my prescribers keep borrowing my book, Aug 13 2010

This is the third edition of this book I have purchased. The prescribers at the clinic where I work, keep borrowing it because it gives so much practical information about the drugs and is much quicker to use than the PDR. I couldn't work without one. I even pass on my previous editions to the prescribers.

Each drug discription provides usual doses, how it is supplied (ie. mg/pill etc.), possible interactions, usual side effects. But my favorite part as an RN and a patient educator is the section on what to share with patients.

Every practicing nurse should have one and judging by my prescribers so should they.

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit disipointed., Oct 8 2010

I wish I had gotten the Davis Drug reference book. My roommate got the Davis one and I really like the format better. The CD that came with the Mosby was supposed to upload onto my PC laptop but wouldn't. I can only get onto it if it is in my disc drive. It is one of those mini CDs so I can't even try to get in onto my Mac. Also I thought It came with a PDA download but you have to buy the download separately. The book itself is just fine though, it totally works as a drug reference book. In general I have not been too impressed with Mosby's material including their drug card. I got the Medi Quick cards which I like better than the mosby ones that my friend got.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best book, Nov 29 2010

I purchased this book because it was in the normal student bundle for my nursing program. I found inaccurate information and information that was missing. I asked my instructor about this and she said she didn't like the book but the program got a discount for using a book package that included it. She recommended the Davis book that I then purchased and after reading it agreed that the Davis book was much better. I would not recommend this book to anyone if they have the option of Drug Reference books.
