Product Description

Product Description

Mother wanted a house. Daddy wanted a child. As long as she had me, the mortgage was paid.

That's how my father explained my genesis.

Mother's House Payment is the story of a little girl who was passed from one abuser to another until, after coping with isolation, neglect, and an encounters with physical, sexual, and psychological violation, she snapped at the age of 13. She learns that her mother has passed on a genetic illness as a parting shot, and she must adjust to growing up with Bipolar Disorder.

As she approaches her 30th year, she works hard to pick up the loose threads of her life and tie them into a lifeline for her future. It is a tale of survival, endurance, and acceptance through understanding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Moving Feb. 1 2012
By Angelique Bone - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
Intense and heartbreaking, this memoir shares a story that will leave you reeling. The matter-of-fact descriptions and memories of abuse, the rationalization that only a child can manufacture, the despair... then the healing... You will cry, that is for sure. I couldn't let the night end without finishing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, shocking, painful and moving all at once! Feb. 21 2012

I'm not usually the kind of person that sits down and reads a book in one sitting, but I seriously couldn't put this one down. I started the day off in a dreadful, depressive mood and Ronnie Schiller saved me from that. I can't remember the last time I read a book that made me sad, then angry, then happy in such rapid succession and so many times.

I would definitely recommend this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars I was so very moved by this memoir. Jan. 30 2012

I cried over this-sad tears, angry tears, and happy tears at the end. How a little girl could live through such a horror show and still be with us is a miracle. That she has risen above that hell to share her story with others is a blessing. Ronnie gives a detailed account of her life with an ever changing backdrop of step parents siblings, bi-polar disorder, depression, the trifecta of abuses, and her struggle to rise above it all and survive. The story is raw and personal-and you can't help but keep reading so that you can know that she makes it through. This book moved me so deeply and will stay with me for a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing May 19 2012
By Aubrey - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
This book was so powerful. Not only was her story powerful but the way she wrote this blew me away. I couldn't put this down and when I had to all I could do was think about it. I am so very moved by her survival and self realization throughout this book. This is an amazing story. I feel like I can't find the right words to do this book justice. Read it, you will not be disappointed

5.0 out of 5 stars Confronting April 9 2012
By M. Best - Published on

Having been a big fan of Ronnie's Infernal Stock series, I noticed Mother's House Payment and figured it would be worth a look. Although completely different to the tales of Dixon, it was no less a worthy read. Without giving too much away, the fact that Ronnie has come out the other side with her sanity intact and able to stand on her own two feet is a true display of resilience and inner strength. I would recommend this book to anyone who feels that they're feeling a little hard done by. It certainly puts it all into perspective - especially considering it's a true story.

At times it is very confronting and difficult to read, but isn't that often the hallmark of a true and honest memoir. Highly recommended.
