Apparently these people never heard the original., Nov 22 2005

This cd is horrible. The original Mousercise was actually about giving children easy movements to do. It was like kids jazzercize and they loved it. This one is more like regular Disney songs put to club music. They should have just re-released the originals.

My daughter loved it!, Sep 12 2005

My daughter loves this CD! She listens to it everyday, dances, and goes to preschool talking about exercising! This is a wonderful way to get younger children motivated to get off the couch and away from the TV. I would recommend it to all parents for their children!

Mousercise for the Dance Dance Revolution generation..., May 18 2006

I see a pattern in the reviews for this album. I too own the original album, you can actually find it on cd here on amazon, by the way, and love it! The songs were fun and catchy, they had a good beat and the excercise routines were easy to do.
The new album is NOT the old! It has club mixes of two of the songs from the first mousercise album (I Wan'na be like you, Ducks Dance too), and a few new songs (mousercise theme, chart of the heart, tigger-cise, Mickey's Workout). The rest of the songs are club mixes of popular Disney songs. All in all a fast paced fun album actually. I agree with one reviewer, there are a few songs that really were a stretch and shouldn't have been on here. "Whole new world" and "Beauty and the Beast" "Whole new world" come to mind. The album would have been better if they had really thought about the songs and not just thrown the most popular ones on here. Example..."One Jump ahead" instead of "whole new world" from Aladdin.
The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are no instructions as there was with the first album. There is a poster of a few excercises you can do, but they don't go with any of the songs. One of the songs, Mickey's Workout sounds wonderful and they talk you through the excercises but the moves are too complicated to just say. You would really need to see the moves done. Here is an example "Cross your left foot, Right behind your right foot, slide your right foot, over to the right, Right! Kick your left foot, Back in front your right foot, Slide your right foot, further to the right." If someone can do this on the first or second try I'd be amazed.
All in all it is a fun album. But I would definately recommend picking up the first version of Mousercise, or the foreign version of the remake (which has a lot of the old songs redone-19 in all), to go with this one. Treat the first Mousercise as a low level workout and this one as advanced.
And if you really want to here a few fun Disney albums, may I recommend the following?
Splash Dance (very very fun)
Mousercise (original)
Disco Mickey (fantastic!)
