great old westerns,

these 4 DVD's are westerns with my favorite old time actors in them like Audie Murphy and Randolf Scott. They just do not make simple old westerns like this any more. they were very enjoyable

Good collection of 4 movies... Always liked westerns the best since I was a kid... Always went to the Saturday afternoon movies... 90% of them were westerns and the rest mostly sword fighting movies and sailing ships on the Spanish Main... Alot of the movies about pirates and sailing ships back in the 1950s are not available any longer. I wonder why?

I was surprised when I saw this collection of movies. Usually when you find a collection, there will be one good movie and the others are inferior. This collection you will find that all four movies are superior. You have four leading stars in this collection starting with Randolph Scott, and then Audie Murphy, Jeff Chandler and also Alan Ladd. Each movie is a classic and could stand alone, but when put together in a group it makes this one of the greatest finds you will find in a long time. And the price is amazing. You will not be disappointed in this collection and even if you only like one of the stars or one of the movies', it is still a good bargain.GLS 25 of 26 people found the following review helpful

This is a great collection of the finest westerns from the late 40s and early 50s. This collection includes the some of the best actors and western actors starring Randolph Scott, Alan Ladd, Robert Preston, Audie Murphy, Jeff Chandler, Maureen O'Hara and Lee Marvin. All of these movies are around 1 hour and 20 minutes and are in Full Screen formant. There are two disks with two movies on each and the menus just has the feature films only with no special features. If you love westerns this is must have.EDIT: I just bought, 4 Movie Marathon: Classic Western Collection (The Texas Rangers / Canyon Passage / Kansas Raiders / The Lawless Breed) and here is my review: This is another awesome collection distributed by Universal. Just like the other collection I bought this because I never knew any of these movies. This collection also has a couple movies from the late 40s and early 50s and one film in the late 30s. These movies in this collection star some of the best actors during these eras and include: Fred MacMurray, Dana Andrews, Audie Murphy, Tony Curtis, Rock Hudson, Brian Donlevy, Susan Hayward, Lloyd Bridges, and Lee Van Cleef plus others! All four of these movies vary between 1 hour and 25 minutes and are in full screen format. This DVD's menu has a different selection screen with a writing of the movie to choose and then goes to the movies menu screen to select language and some features. Having grown up with the Saturday afternoon B westerns I thoroughly enjoyed these movies again as the next step up. The dvds are well done in sound and quality. They were as advertised.
