Review

"Another winner by Grace Fox! Every woman will identify with Moving from Fear to Freedom. With profound insight, humor, sound advice, and amazing stories, Grace inspires you to jump in, face your fears, learn, grow and come out stronger on the other side. Moving from Fear to Freedom will be part of my personal library. It's a keeper." --Margaret Gibb, President, Women Alive "Grace Fox has tackled a challenging emotion--fear--and written about it with clarity, compassion, and courage. She offers help, hope, and even a bit of humor as she uncovers the truth about fear through real-life stories, relevant Scripture, and steps of practical application. My favorite part of each chapter is 'Praying the Promises.' A must-read for anyone afraid of fear!" --Karen O'Connor, author of Walkin' with God Ain't for Wimps and The Beauty of Aging "Grace Fox has nailed the fears that pierce a woman's heart and prevent her from experiencing the true joy and freedom that are her birthright as a child of the living God. For too long we women have allowed ourselves to walk in the shadow of fear, missing out on the sunlight that beckons us and is ours for the taking. Grace shows us how we can move from the shadow into the sunlight once and for all and, in turn, help others to do the same. "Complete with provocative points to ponder, Scriptures to mediate on, and prayers to pray, Moving from Fear to Freedom is a must-read book for any woman who desires to live in the truth that 'God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." --Kathi Macias, author of How Can I Run a Tight Ship When I'm Surrounded by Loose Cannons? "Grace is far more than an author; she's a friend who lovingly walks beside you through the pages of her book. Her writing takes you to a place of real freedom. Her words are like keys that unlock a woman's spirit and help her to live freely in the truth. Grace presents liberating spiritual principles with clarity and sensitivity. She offers profound truth in a practical way through deep spiritual insights and great storytelling. She is truly a woman of wisdom and compassion, and I am honored to know her." --Jennifer Rothschild, speaker on the popular Women of Faith Tour, author of Lessons I Learned in the Dark and Self Talk, Soul Talk "Grace Fox's book Moving from Fear to Freedom, is a must-read for every woman regardless of age. Many of the fears resonated with my own life experience, so I could identify with the struggles as well as the freedom of giving all to God. I was reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6--'Trust in the LORD with all your heart and learn not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.'" --Deb Haggerty, author and speaker "Moving from Fear to Freedom is a deeply soul-satisfying book. Grace Fox does a masterful job of helping us engage our hearts as well as our minds in becoming active participants in taking control of fear and transforming it, with the help of the Holy Spirit, into the energy we need to move more deeply and freely into the abundant life that was Jesus' stated intention of his life. Grace knows what she's talking about and is a trusted 'over coffee' friend. This is a great resource for all ages." --Robin Chaddock, certified life coach, author, speaker "There really is an upside to fear! Grace Fox shares this truth by revealing her own struggles with fear along with real, from-the-heart stories of women across the country. The sections at the end of each chapter--Points for Progress, Promises to Ponder, and Praying the Promises--are creative and brilliant practical helps. Grace clearly demonstrates that fear does indeed take flight in the face of God's infinite person and power! Personally, I thank Grace for helping me to so deeply understand and face fear in a whole new way. This book has brought me into the freedom God so desires for all of us." --Lane P. Jordan, author of 12 Steps to Becoming a More Organized Woman and 12 Steps to Becoming a More Organized Mom "What a timeless book. Every day of our life can be fraught with fear if we allow it. In Moving from Fear to Freedom, Grace Fox tells the good, bad, and ugly of fear. Some fears are healthy and necessary, and others are debilitating. Grace teaches readers how to break free from the ones that hold them back, she includes stories and poignant quotes, and she offers points for progress, promises to ponder, meaningful prayers. This is a book to be read and reread." --Brenda Nixon, speaker and author of Parenting Power in the Early Years "When we're paralyzed by fear, we need someone to come alongside us and remind us of God's promises. Grace Fox does just that in her book Moving from Fear to Freedom. I also love how she turns scriptural promises into prayers, allowing us to focus on God rather than ourselves. Grab this life-changing book and put fear in its place: nowhere!" --Janet Holm McHenry, author of PrayerWalk and PrayerStreaming "The powerful real-life stories, Scriptures, and personal growth questions Grace has combined are the perfect recipe for moving from fear to freedom. This is a great book sure to touch and change lives!" --Allison Bottke, author of Setting Boundaries with Your Adult Children and founder of God Allows U-Turns

I really appreciate this book's transparency about the fears we too often keep hidden, and the author's practical tips for change. The book reassures women that we're not alone in our fears. Others have been there and have found a way to overcome by relying on the promises of the God of the Bible.

Moving From Fear to Freedom, A Woman's Guide to Peace in Every Situation delivers what it promises - a guide to finding true peace. Everyone deals with fear; Grace has identified the most common fears and provides sensible, relevant coping strategies from the Bible. The book spoke to me personally and I have received many reports from women across Canada who have used in in small groups sponsored by Stonecroft Ministries and found it most helpful.

Real answers for too-common fears Dec 6 2007
By Jeanne Zornes - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Read this book and you'll find yourself saying, "That's me," or "Maybe this is how I can minister to my hurting friend." Grace has her finger on the pulse of what women think and are often afraid to admit so that they could truly live in freedom. Grace is a diligent researcher, who conducted many personal interviews to get just the right stories to make her book real. The end-of-chapter questions, focus scriptures, and prayer bring reminder that no fear is beyond God's help. Get it for yourself and to use in a women's Bible study.

There is nothing to fear, but fear itself Nov. 4 2007
By Alison - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
The author really identified my fears as a woman. She seems so wise and so real at the same time. I was moved to deal with some of my past experiences in order to not be so fearful of the future. I was reminded that God really does care about me. I especially liked her perspective on "the upside of fear" as an indicator that I have taken my focus of of God's love. She challenged me to reconsider if I can do something meaningful with my life, which has previously been characterized by fear and avoidance. This is a great book for those who pretend that constant worrying is normal. I truly have a new freedom after challenging my thinking with the perspective in this book.

Leave Fear in the Dust Dec 4 2007
By Janet H. McHenry - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is an awesome book! I was the type of woman who had some rather irrational fears (like, where will I go when the tornado hits...and I live in the mountains in California!). Instead, I've found a freeing kind of help after reading Grace Fox's book. Basically, I'm able to look the situation in the eye and understand that God is bigger than it is. I highly recommend this book.
Ready to Let Go? July 3 2008
By Jo Franz - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Reading this book brought back so many personal experiences I have had to give to God! Fox has written what I truly believe--we can be free of fear even in the midst of the worst storms of our lives! Her examples are easy to relate to since most of us have "been there, done that" with at least some of them. The Points for Progress provide the reader with excellent insight into the heart of each concern and then the Promises to Ponder give us the hope we need to carry out the necessary soul-searching. I love books with prayers in them, and Grace's prayers at each chapter's end are precious. I highly recommend this book, and having been a person filled with fears, I have the right! (Smile)
