Reliving One's Life With Distinction!,

This movie is a great watch because it takes an old popular Hollywood theme of time-travel and gives it an interestingly new wrinkle: it is seen in reverse. While not as dare-devilish and funny as the "Back to the Future", "Mr. Nobody" does have its amusing moments. We have Nemo, a very old man, arriving at his 118th birthday in 2092; very plausible given the fact that many of us are living longer these days. To all around him, he is a relic of an unknown past and an object of profound mystery. Obviously, his immediate memory has passed its normal shelf life and decrepitude is in its last throes before the big send-off. Nemo is the last mortal of the old generation alive and, thus, the subject of much curiosity in a brave new world where science has made everyone of the now generation immortally young at the expense of destroying their freedom to choose. Before Nemo passes away, we see him relive his life story while he is being interviewed by an annoying kid of a journalist looking to discover the essence of his remarkable existence. In the course of retelling the remarkable tale of his uncharted and unscripted life, Nemo explores the richness and vastness of what might have been. The freedom that comes with an untrammelled imagination allows him to savour all possibilities - good or bad - as he sees his life flash before him, without having to make ultimate choices. This replay of his rich and varied life remains only his to appreciate because it reflects the real nature of his existence: risk, reward and limitless opportunities.

Ce film vaut absolument le détour. Comment notre vie aurait pu être complètement différente si l'on avait fait des choix différents à certains moments? L'histoire peut paraître un peu déroutante à certains moments, mais c'est ce qui selon moi donne toute la richesse au film. Une réalisation superbe!

This movie is absolutely breathtaking! It's a very deep, thought out film. It relies heavily on science, love and possibilities. It's a shame it wasn't released in more places. I had never heard of it before a week ago and now it's one of the best discoveries I've ever come across. Take a chance. It's a beautiful movie.
