My system is going on 7 years old now, and the primary video card was acting weird, causing hangs, BSODs, reboots (no BSOD, just reboot). So I had to stick a fan aimed at my video card for over a month and a half till I found a good card at a great price. I am on very limited funds due to a being disabled and unable to work. I tried another card first, but it was not compatible with my older system and caused all kinds of strange problems, so it was returned and this was bought in it's place, I installed it and hooked up my dual monitors and all looks great. I have been running it 24/7 just like the previous video card, and it's not showing any signs of distress, and is in fact making my computer run at a much faster pace due to the increased video memory and bus/bandwidth. Overall this is a really great budget card, definitely not a games card though.

My machine had an Intel Media Express chip set that was intermittently crashing and locking up, probably due to heat or bad memory. I got this so I could disable the Intel video and use this instead. It worked. No more lock ups and the card works great with Linux. NVidia is a solid graphics chip set and is always a good buy.

Well, simply put, it's not powerful. At all. Games aren't going to look perfect, especially newer games. That's not why you purchase this card, though...
This card's perfect for a media computer. Surfing the web, navigating Windows, and watching 1080p video are what this card excels at. That said, I ran games on it at playable framerates. A driving sim I play got around 30-40 fps with this 610. It was between 280-360 fps (not a typo...) with my GTX480 on the exact same system. My point is 30 fps is perfectly playable, but don't expect the world in terms of gaming performance.
If you require a cheap, well put together card, look no further.

The GeForce GT 610 is good for what it is. It is an improvement over what came with my computer. The software that came with the card works well and is easy to figure out. I like being able to use two monitors, which makes it easy to multitask. For example, it is possible to browse the internet on one screen while watching HD video on another. Full-screen HD video playing on my television is good, but the frame rates are not perfect, which is why I only gave four stars. I am happy with the GT 610 and would recommend it to anyone who wants an improvement over their computer's stock graphics but who does not need a high-end card.

It's an easy install and only took several minutes to install and get the drivers updated. It works great and has a quiet cooling fan. I'm using it to have an upgrade in the video area to move away from on-board graphics video on an older PC running Windows 7 64 bit OS. I'd buy it again.
