Olivia Newton-John was married in Santa Barbera..., Nov 25 2003

This review is from: Mud Will Be Flung Tonight (Audio CD)
This is hillarious. I am listening to it right now. The Marriage, Movies, Madonna, and Mick, will make you scream. She talks about getting married the same weekend as Olivia Newton-John (who I greatly adore too!) and Sally Feild. When she talks about Madonna, you will die. LIKE A VIRGIN,YEAH! Also, you will find hillarious the "Otto Titsling," and The Sophie Tucker jokes. Bette does not sing too much, but this is definatly not one to be missed. If you Loved "DIVINE MADNESS," you will need to purchace this.

Prepare to wet your pants!!!! She's hilarious!, April 15 2003
This review is from: Mud Will Be Flung Tonight (Audio CD)
Bette Midler gets funny, silly and raunchy in this live comedy album. If you've not hear her hilarity, then you've been living under a rock, my friend. So get out from beneath that boulder and listen to her fling mud at cleebrities galore. This is not to say that she's bashing them. She flings the mud on herself, too. Nothing like self-depricating humor to counter that thrown on others! She rants on topics from celebrity weddings to weight jokes to old people having sex and fart jokes. Nothing is sacred to Bette Midler. She's not afraid to offend. Hear her story about teh invention of the brassiere and her WHY BOTHER? act. Hilarious! This is one of those rare jewels that people don't realize exists. This may be the best little hidden secret in the comedy album world. Get it and you won't be disappointed.

You won't laugh if you're Oscar the Grouch!, Mar 24 2003
This review is from: Mud Will Be Flung Tonight (Audio CD)
Amongst my extensive audio collection are only a handful of comedy albums; thus, I can't label Ms. Midler's "one of the best of all time". I don't have that many with which I can compare. However, on its own, "Mud..." does exactly what the artist and company set out to accomplish: induce non-stop laughter from anyone within earshot of Midler's routine. Bette's bawdy humor and jabs at fellow celebrities are on the mark hilarious. She even takes stabs at her own fluctuating weight in the highly jovial vocal ditty "Fat as I Am". Yes, the language is on occasion "rough" but the punch line, like the routines of other less-talented comic performers, is not dependent on the use of four-letter words. For that, I am thankful.
