(As you can tell, I really like "Muhyo & Roji" a lot by my reviews)
None of the book stores near my home didn't seem to have the latest volume of "Muhyo & Roji", boy, was I lucky that I found it at A-kon 21 at a book stand. :) As soon as I got to my hotel room, I began to read it.
Ah, what can I say about volume 17 besides the drama and melodrama that happens in the book? (No worries, not in a bad way)
One thing is for sure, I am glad I'm not a spirit medium in their world like poor Nana is.
The story picks up right after volume 16's ending without hesitation. Nana gets kidnapped along with 10 or so more spirit mediums. All female. There IS a reason why all women and...like I said before, I am glad I'm NOT a spirit medium in their world.
As you can tell by the cover, five new characters appear right before the "M&R" series end. Included is "Sanpu", who tends to space out and forgets people's names...making him an interesting character.
Everyone who were absent in the previous volume return, which makes me happy.
Believe it or not, there's actually blood in here than earlier volumes, which also makes me happy since other Shonen Jump titles tend to have it in every volume. (Example: Bleach)
(I can tell that Viz Media's afraid of making the characters curse, even though it's a Teen rated manga. They shouldn't have to because of...well, Bleach again.)
Anyhow, with an epic punch that takes half a page, Roji being his sweet, sad, and innocent self, this volume goes well.
It's a shame that there are hardly any fans in America yet there were much more fans in Japan. (Different tastes, my guess) I would know, because in the original Japanese manga, there would be pages with fanart by Japanese fans. In the American manga...there are no fanarts, just a black page with the "Muhyo & Roji" logo at the top and bottom. :/
Just one more volume left before it's time to say "Farewell" to a Shonen Jump title that breaks the "Shonen Jump stereotype".
And like I said in the last review, I pray Viz Media releases the "Muhyo & Roji" novels.
