I have a five year old lab-cross rescue who has never, ever been a problem barker. Recently he has taken to barking like crazy when I leave for work, I suppose due to separation anxiety. I live in a condo so his barking is not acceptable.
I got this collar, put it on him and immediately, he stopped barking. But then again I was laughing at his surprised face so hard that I didn't even notice him until I calmed down. It works like a champ and will definitely stop the barking.
My problem is that the collar is much too sensitive. If my dog scratches an itch, it squirts him. If he grunts or groans at all, it squirts him. I don't think that is very fair to the dog so I am searching for a collar that has a sensitivity adjustment.
After a couple hours wearing the collar, I found him under my bed not moving and being silent. I thought he was thinking, "Now if I'm perfectly still and perfectly silent, I won't get a squirt from my new necklace." I took it off and we had a long walk and play in the dog park. I won't be using that collar on him again.
