Book Description

This book is for the many teachers and students who want to create media, not just watch commercially produced products. This text is meant to be practical in that it describes ideas and step-by-step techniques that will bring life, expression, and learning to the application of various multimedia tools. The ideas, projects, and exercises described in this book can be adapted to many teaching and learning situations in the K-12 classroom.

From the Back Cover

This book is for the many teachers and students who want to create media. It explores the unlimited educational-creative potential of combining digital media and technology with the expressive powers of traditional media production methods pioneered by the great media producers of the past. This practical text describes ideas and techniques that will bring life, expression, and learning to the application of various multimedia tools. The projects can be followed step-by-step or they can be modified and interpreted to match particular purposes and skills. The challenge is for the creator to use these projects to experiment, to try, to retry, and to create. The ideas, projects, and exercises in this book can be adapted to many teaching and learning situations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Multimedia for all people, Dec 21 2007
By Jeffrey Beard "Mulitmedia Man" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Multimedia Design and Production for Students and Teachers (Paperback)
I have had the opportunity to use this as a textbook as I have studied under Dr. Counts. However, it is an excellent resource for anyone who is interested in learning about designing and producing multimedia. Dr. Counts is the consummate professional in both the arts and technical production of film and multimedia in general. I highly recommend this book and any other publication by Dr. Counts.
