We have been using the collar for five days during Kasey's outside time only. She still forgets at times and gives a little bark but is soon corrected. The thing that I love is that she is not afraid of the collar at all and allows us to put it on her without question when she wants outside. I am hopefuly that the day will come that we no longer require the collar!

she doesn't like the spray and stops right away, however make sure u have battery off when not in use or you will kill it.. and batteries are REALLY expensive to replace for this unit..

I can hear the Sept. 17 2011

We have 3 dogs (kids). Our middle child will yap at anything and get his brothers started and basically drive mom and dad crazy. We tried the ultrasonic bark stoppers in the house to no avail.

I didn't try the "shock" anti-bar collars for 3 reasons:

1. I didn't like the idea of shocking my dog
2. My dog is a Pomeranian and there's no way to get skin contact through all that fur
3. My dog is 10 pound soaking wet and it's hard to get these types of collars to fit

This collar was wonderful. Of course we had to cut the collar in half to accommodate the smaller neck, but it still went on just fine.

Another good thing is that the collar only needs to sit near the throat, it does not require any skin contact. That makes it perfect for Poofy dogs like mine.

I personally like the smell of Citronella so that didn't bother me. My dogs however, did not like it, which is the point. I put the collar on our trouble making middle child and waited.

As soon as he started barking a little spritz of Citronella shot up in front of his face. Immediately he stopped barking and turned to run away from whatever invisible force had attempted to stop him. After a minute of cleaning his nose with his paw he was gone again. After a few trials he realized that the invisible force was following him everywhere so it was best just not to bark! YAY!!!!!!

It only took a couple of days wearing the collar during the day, but took it off for bedtime, for his barking to be drastically improved. Now it's about a year later and I only use it occasionally if he starts to revert to his bark at anything days.

Getting the instigator under control has brought peace to our household and save us a lot of frustration and money on aspirin :-)

It took us 4 years to find something that worked for our particular dog, so don't give up. Dogs are like people and different ones respond to different things.

Great Product Nov. 7 2011

We were looking for a way to get our Jack Russel Terrier to quieten down in the back yard and in the car when we weren't with her. We'd had one experience with a shock collar (when we did the rattlesnake aversion training) and were searching for a gentler way to work with her. After doing quite a bit of research, we settled on the spray-type collar. Further research gave this product the best rating by a whole bunch. It came in complete with batteries and sprays, as advertised.

We got the collar in, let her wear it for a couple of days (without turning it on or loading it)on-and-off, per the instructions, then loaded it up with battery and citronella spray. The first time she barked, it went off and got her attention! Second time, same thing. More than anything, it seems to distract her as in "What the heck is this???" rather than any adverse action like a shock. It's been working well ever since, and without the physical discomfort/pain that a shock collar would give her. For the last couple of weeks, we've been working with her with and without the collar. So far, having the collar on and turned on works best, but it's getting better without the collar turned on or even without the collar. With the collar? All I can say is "WOWZERS! This thing works!"

Nice to have a product that works great "out-of-the-box" like this one and that was shipped complete, as described in the ad.

Yep, we're impressed and very happy and our JRT is now a whole bunch quieter!

The best Christmas gift ever Jan. 14 2012

If you are reading this review...I feel your pain. I am very happy with the product. I have a young Bichon Frise at home. She barks at everything. This product made my Christmas the best ever yet. She was the quietest dog ever when I had the house full of people. She can go outside now and not bark at all the neighbors and everything.

My extra canisters...and stock up on will thank me later.

Great product. Teaches dogs not to bark in a humane way. Scent really not smelt by humans. My dog has never gotten sick. A month later...she is more calmer and behaves better.

It has been three months dog has learned to not bark in certain situations so I am putting the collar on less when I want to modify her behavior. The vet even agreed that it was a good system!

This product is an answer to my prayers!

Stops the Barking Aug. 28 2011

In addition to our dog we also dogsit 2 Jack-a-Poo's, who are constantly barking when someone walks on the front street, the park, at the mailman, etc. The collar is rotated amongst the dogs and when its on the house gets quiet quickly as they realize that anyone of them barking may send out a puff of stuff they don't like. The oldest and most prolific barker is one of the Jack-a-Poos and she knows that when she has the collar on she gets puffed if she barks, even if she hides under the bed so she just keeps quiet. The collar has worked as intended and does not physically hurt the dogs in any way which was our intent - no shocks and no choking.

As described. Works as stated. Spray does not hurt the dog. They get used to it fast. Would recommend anyone with dogs that bark a lot.
