Product Description

From Booklist

Ages 4^-8. Roughly 10 inches square, this volume includes the complete text and Martchenko illustrations from five of Munsch's popular picture books: The Paper Bag Princess, The Fire Station, I Have to Go!, David's Father, and Thomas' Snowsuit. Librarians who can't keep up with requests for Munsch's books will find this a cost-effective way to cope. In addition, the larger scale of the format means bigger illustrations, and the quality of the paper ensures good reproduction of the brightly colored artwork. Consider multiple copies of this collection, which offers a treasure chest of crowd-pleasing picture books at a bargain price. Carolyn Phelan

5.0 out of 5 stars Munschworks is great, April 17 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Munschworks: The First Munsch Collection (Library Binding)
Robert Munch has done all teachers and parents a favor bycompiling some of his more popular stories into onecollection. Children at my school love it when I take out this book. Munschworks is a great tool to involve young children in emergent literacy. The stories "Thomas' Snowsuit", "David's Father" and "I have to go" really get the children involved in the telling of the story which instills begining reading skills in the young reader. The children have these stories read to them so much that they end up memorizing the story and they can tell it to you. The children also like the silliness of "The paper bag princess" and like to make up different endings for this story. The idea to put five Munsch stories together is a wonderful one. Michael Martchenko and Munsch make a great tag team in the world of children's literature. The children in my classroom can't agree more. END

By A Customer
This review is from: Munschworks: The First Munsch Collection (Library Binding)
I teach preschool children and they love Robert Munsch stories, and they loved this collection of his stories. I purchased the book just yesterday and we read all of the stories today, after I read one they begged me to read another and another. They loved all the stories inside this book. I definetly recommend this book to parents and teachers.
