Richards pens a suspenseful romance with an original twist that you can read in one setting. Maggie is the manager of a writer's retreat that went wrong. When Maggie is the prime murder suspect, Fletcher comes in to solve the crime. In uncovering the layers of mystery, Fletcher and Maggie must depend on their faith to determine who is guilty.
If you are a lover of suspense, this book is for you. This is the first Love Inspired Suspense novel that I've read and I must say it was well worth it. The inspiration drawn and romance revealed was awe-inspiring.

An appealing new duo makes their debut in this original mystery novel. I hope this is the beginning of a series featuring Maggie Weston and Fletcher MacAllister.
As the manager of a writer's retreat, Maggie, and an ex-NYC detective are thrown together when Maggie becomes a suspect in the murder of her boss. With all the suspects under the somewhat limited number of roofs at Jackson's Retreat we get an intimate view of the intertwined lives that brought them all together.
What kind of hold did Aaron have on each of the people gathered at his retreat? Were they there to write or hide from the world? And who would benefit if Aaron was gone? Would it be his market-savvy widow or will Maggie profit from her former relationship with Aaron or will one of the other guests gain from his death?
It's up to Fletcher, with insights from Maggie and feelings he doesn't quite trust, to determine whose secrets and connection to Aaron led to his murder. The detective has to trust in his own instincts and faith to prove who is guilty.
Where will the trust Fletcher and Maggie have in each other and the faith they share take them next?

This small-sized package gives us a giant-sized portrait of the talent of author Ramona Richards. Murder at a writer's retreat center leaves everyone pointing fingers--and readers wondering where the surprising twists and turns of this "story within a story" will lead.
